So it's ok to hurl abuse at the current Carlton team because the former Carlton teams had shady characters ?? Come off it Milney haters grip to one thing and exaggerate it and keep on at it just as people on here are doing to the currentCarlton team ... I don't like Carlton but how bout we practice what we preach and just cheer for our team ??magnifisaint wrote:You're talking chalk and cheese. At 10.30pm on Monday, Carlton will top the ladder.....

But yes, the current Carlton team is part of their cheating legacy… with C Judd as their biting, scratching, money laundering captain.
Not sure why you would bother sticking up for these guys… They've had 3 number ones in a row, get Judd and still complain about missing out on Goddard. They deserve no pity or sympathy, any saints fan who was around in the 80's would agree…

Not sure our forwards are going to trouble anyone tonight. With Kosi in the ruck and roo either being double teamed or taking his marks out on the boundry on the 50m arc after running his guts out and milne just being so terribly out of form and Wilkes playing his second game and Ryhs in the Ruck there is not much in the forward line to look forward to. What is going to happen is the Carlton forwards are going to be a massive handfull for our backs. I feel sorry for Blake tonight.SainterK wrote:Our forwards are going to be a massive handfull for them.
Sure they have two specialised ruckman, but let's look at the fact we'll be far more athletic and easily less clunky.
Essendon smashed them by putting them under constant pressure, wasn't that long ago the boys were capable of applying a bit of that, or is that just something that we used to know?
We'll find out I guess.

we are going to dominate them...... i got a feeling ^_^ also believe we will do west coast although might struggle with sydney
Re: At 10.30pm on Monday, Carlton will top the ladder.....
i would say that wilkes will plug the hole left by blake/kosi/stanley, when any of them are in the ruck....
I like the approach, it means that we can always maintain our 3 tall attack.....
Considering Roo will be double teamed, Kosi will be covered due to form, it leaves stanely and wilkes in a prime spot to grab a few good marks and kick some goals...
Our biggest hope is if we can outscore them, with a weakened back line, our forward line will need to run like clockwork, if we are to keep in the contest.
GO SAINTS!!!

"At 10.30pm on Monday, Carlton will top the ladder....." and " What's an acceptable loss against Carlton? "
I'll tell you what's shyte - your headlines are shyte saintspremiers!!! Yes we finished last year under Lyon the same way we started - with a crappy effort in a final - and yes Carlton beat us by 3 pts last year....but please. Sure, your message under the headline says you hate Carlton or whatever, but I'm sick to death of OP's predicting Saints losses. I'm also sick to death of posters predicting that the Saints will finish 2012 in a worse position than last year...
One thing these posters and these OP's have in common is that most of them come from deople who have a mentality that looks backwards rather than forwards; where the conservative status quo is safer than the daring/risk taking mentality that I'm seeing being adopted by Watters and our blokes taking on their opponents. It's being happening for 100 years in footy. Young blokes with spark and energy and SPEED. I love watching the way Scotty has this team playing. I love watching our young blokes that aren't afraid to take the game on.
You negative posters need to be named and shamed.

BUMP!
don't you dare try and erase this thread SP, let it stand as testament to the negative defeatist attitude you and your mates have about us this season.
I knew it was BS when you wrote it and should have said so, but I wasn't brave enough to jinx our team.
Take a good hard look at yourself, seriously. Worse than a joke.

I must admit I wasn't looking forward to tonights game. I had a sneaky feeling we would get done and about half way through the first I thaught it was on the way. They had space and time and were running all over us.
Great credit to all the boys though as after that the Blues didnt even get close. We were hard, skillful, decisive, slick and best of all quick. I am thrilled we came away with teh points especially against a quality side
Bring on the Eagles
BANG BANG

Maybe, just maybe the players are sick to death of people outside and INSIDE the club, doubting what this group is capable of...But then again - what do you expect when the guy who is supposed to inspire your group and provide the belief and the leadership to find the solutions and lift the energy and the hunger within the group tells his players and all his followers who hang on his every word that; "maybe we do need to re-build, maybe I've been in denial..." Lyon did that very, very, very early last year...He reiterated that he felt it was the END just before he 'ucked off!! Seriously, how can you not enjoy watchin Armo and Jack and Rhys and Gears play with a newfound enthusiasm. The shackles are off, The negative energy has left the building.saintspremiers wrote:And so was I and big deal.bigred wrote:I was wrong.

Well.....
If they would just play with the same intent as we saw tonight, and had a red hot crack every time they take the field, instead of wilting like they did against the Power, Dockers and Hawks, then NO ONE would question them.
Just knock off the Eagles this week PLEASE!
