A named half back line of Simpkin, Dempster and Geary - then with Blake on the last line does not fill me with confidence because how do we get the ball out of there?

Too easy to tag Gilbert and Gram to negate any run from our defensive lines.

A named half-back line of Gwilt Fisher and Clarke is imperative to an acceptable season.

Simpkin can do a job - and this may be the game to give him the pivitol defensive spot and the licence to impact on a game instead of negating talls pushed into our defensive 50 because of our lack of height in defence.

Gwilt has had a number of games now, and should re ready for a call-up. Whereas Clarke only has the one. Probably will need another VFL outing, but without Fisher we need them both.
