4 losses in a row coming up

Post: # 1215305Post ralphsmith »

Last night against hawks. Then against carlton, west coast and sydney. Just thinking back to the dark years of the early 00s. It was Robert Harvey that kept me interested more than anything else. I just felt as long as he was playing there was always hope for the future.

Going to be tough for the supporters.

I suppose we just need to keep getting experience into the young players. I desperately want Saad and Sipposs to keep playing.

on paper yes. but anything can happen. carlton are not invincible at all, bombers proved that. west coast hmmmm hard one. sydney might be due for a shocker and we might come out on top if they don't bring their A game. hey we beat Brisbane in 03 no one saw that coming!

Don't pencil in Richmond yet as a win. We face them after this tough 4 weeks.

Our record v e-girls over there is second to probably only Freo...

I think we can beat them after knocking off Carlscum next Monday night

And the Swines are very beatable

I just had a look at our next 12 weeks and I'm only genuinely confident of winning 2 of them (Melbourne and Bulldogs) with the way we're going at the moment (plus the injuries to Fish and Mac). Lots of teams in or around the 8 and interstate games coming up.

Feel that we really need to lift, or make a move that makes a big difference (like Roo to defence and Wilkes into the forward line, for instance), because if we have a few losses in a row, our senior group might finally realise that our "window" is closed and if they lose spirit and hope we could quickly fall off a cliff and then we'll be in major strife.

nah, we're a bit better than average but that's it:

port adelaide: 6 wins 6 losses = 50%
fremantle: 8 wins 9 losses = 47%
geelong: 8 wins 9 losses = 47%
carlton: 8 wins 12 losses = 40%
north melb: 6 wins 12 losses = 33%
sydney: 6 wins 13 losses = 32%
st kilda: 6 wins 14 losses = 30%
brisbane: 3 wins 7 losses = 30%
hawthorn: 5 wins 13 losses = 28%
adelaide: 4 wins 12 losses = 25%
melbourne: 5 wins 16 losses = 24%
footscray: 5 wins 1 draw 16 losses = 23%
collingwood: 3 wins 11 losses = 21%
essendon: 4 wins 15 losses = 21%
richmond: 2 wins 13 losses = 13%

we won't beat the eagles over there without fisher and mcevoy, no chance.

Sorry I meant recent record at Subi is good.

I'm thinking of Bangers 350th in 08? Great victory

And in 09, during our 19 match spree, the week after a titanic match v Cats, we travelled to Perth, didn't rest anyone, top 2 already sewn up and had a grinding, tough as nails win.

Last year we were struggling and belted the Shockers there.

No, don't write that wet toast game off as a loss yet. Wouldn't surprise me if the Roos beat the pricks there tonight

Not a bad call Roo CHB and Wilkes in the forward line (we have to look outside the box)

I don't think we are that bad at the moment, any team on any given day are beatable. A tough win against a big opponent will help get the season back on track. There is still plenty of time to turn things around.

As always...go Saints.

We were in the Hawks game until the last quarter and looked unbalanced when Fisher went down. Wouldn't back us against Carlton on form but anything can happen others are more winnable. Goodes is a huge out for Sydney as he's like Hayes, just finds a little more in the tank and wins games.
