Two Queries

Post: # 1213449Post Burkey 1 »

How would Wilkes fit into our forward structure with stanley & roo, then there's kosi to come back in ?

Also, does anyone really know when schneids will be back, must be some strain of the hammy !!!

It would present a team balance problem. Too tall, too easy to run it out maybe.

I don't know the answer to this as I'd love to see Wilkes stay ... as a forward.

Dunno about Schneider.

My uncle and I went to the open training session last Friday. Schneids was lightly jogging laps with a compression bandage on one of his hammies ( I can't remember which one, sorry). I think he could still be a little while away.

Maybe the time has come to put Wilkes at Full Forward, Stanley @ CHF, Roo in the traditional Ruck Rover role & Kosi coming off the bench with McEvoy & drifting down to forward line when either are on the ground.

I would like to see more of a rucking role with rests forward for Stanley, the Hawks might need to pull Roughhead from the ruck leaving Hale against Big Mac and Stanley. Kosi FF Wilkes and Roo alternating wing and CHF roles. Wilkes maybe swapping to FF for periods. either way getting one a bit further away would be the main aim.

Schneieder seems to have a very torn hammy but so does Raph

Just the reality the this may be Kosis last year and time for a change. Kosi might not be a walk up start which is good for our future.

Kozi contracted to end of 2013.
Would have given it away after 2010 if we won flag.

Riewoldt and Goddard to live up to their reputations ,Clarke and Ray to defy theirs in 2012!

Bite the bullet on either Koz or Stanley..... Tough Call

Three ruck Fwds = one too many

Possibly

I just don't like the 200/197cm combination at ground level with a lumbering Wilkes?

Add to that Milnes inconsistent defensive pressure....

It is an idea worth pondering

Siposs playing wing fwd, Riewoldt playing wing fwd, Goddard playing wing fwd, Gilbert, Stanley ....... I suppose many could rotatehuh rough there

I think where as unpredictable as we have been in a while.. Stanley gets the ball kicked to him quite a bit. The midfielders are kicking it to him and kosi and wilks on Saturday night Roo doesn't seem to be dominating the amount of balls kicked inside 50 as he has been over the last couple of years.. This week would be as good as any week to play all 4 up forward and really try stretch there defence

Wow That's a worry.

Why retire at the end of 2010 when your're only 26-27 yrs old?

Is his body that stuffed?

We are now 2 years on from then.....it's not like he's going to get faster!

He's important to our structure and we need him.

I think Roo to the wing has to happen now

he's not the forward he once was but at the same time, his field kicking is very good, he demands accountability and presents as a decent target as a 1 on 1 up the ground during a fast break

This may never happen but when Clarkson puts Buddy up on the wing it would be a site to see Roo line up against him.

Stanley to replace McEvoy in ruck & Kosi as the backup. McEvoy to develop with Sandi where he should be playing!

Stanley is too fragile at the moment to ruck the majority of the game. His body would not stand up to the bigger bodied ruckman. He would not past the season. Macca is doing his job he presents hard and is developing where he should be in the seniors. Macca will end up a top ruckman IMO you need both types to ruck one mobile and one big bodied, ala cox and nick nat

we think schneider has re-done the hammy as he is now out for another 3-4 weeks.

Compare to West Coast's talls:

West Coast
Kennedy, Darling, Q Stick and two rucks Nic Nat and Cox

St Kilda
Kosi, Roo, Wilkes and two rucks Stanley and McEvoy
