Re: Changes for Hawks game
After yesterday, and going on the fact that we still need players who can kick the ball, Sipposs would be the first one In for mine.

Re: Changes for Hawks game
Considering I was genuinely shocked that he wasn't in our side from the start of the season and that he had a good game yesterday, I don't have any argument with that.

Re: Changes for Hawks game
This weeks ins and outs are going to cause the coaching team some real headaches - Wilkes really doesn't deserve to be dropped but probably will be - hope Kosi can continue where he left off.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
Re: Changes for Hawks game
Wilkes doesn't deserve to be dropped, he did everything that was asked of him last night as well as the previous weeks for Sandy. Kosi needs to come in, he was the most dangerous forward against Freo and has been playing well. How's Roo's knee????? Is it time to push him on to the wing a la Matthew Richardson in his twighlight years, and give him free reign. He can offer a chop out in defence and his footskills inside 50 are generally spot on. I don't think we can have Stanley + the aforementioned inside 50 together. It would free him up a bit as well maybe prolong his career instead of getting smashed up forward. Would add another dimension.

Re: Changes for Hawks game
Hi Eastern, I've interpreted Plugger's thread to be about predicting what the club's selection committee (as compared to what should be the official selection committee here on SS) will actually do.Eastern wrote:Don't you lot know the rules

That said, I'm one who has been guilty of posting what I hope will happen c/f what I predict will happen at selection.
But not to worry , history teaches that as long as the club's selectors don't follow my sage armchair hero advice, we tend to win... However, based on that, Ledger, Sippa and Wilkesy have a nervous week infront of them, and Grammy is safe as...

Re: Changes for Hawks game
Who woud be in the team without knowing their reputation from this point in the season out of Riewoldt Kosi and Wilkes? To me kosi and wilkes(even though he has only played the one game) have done a good job so far.
Re: Changes for Hawks game
True, but I think opposition still plan to stop Riewoldt, more so than Kosi and his workrate is still incredible. And Wilkes is just one game, 1 swallow doesn't make a summer.noob wrote:Who woud be in the team without knowing their reputation from this point in the season out of Riewoldt Kosi and Wilkes? One from left field.
Out: McEvoy, Cripps
In: Kosi, Sipposs
I don't think Big Mac should be dropped, but of the big guys, maybe he should go first. Kosi and Stanley can ruck against Big Broc and Hale. And Wilkes plays up forward. Last year Kosi did better against Roughy than Ben (although both were probably beaten).

Re: Changes for Hawks game
Yep, agree with that APS. Wilkes might just have that innate goal sense that good forwards need. Plays and leads like a true ff, whereas Kosi is more your ruck/forward.Kosi probably has better hands (Kosi has better hands than most) and may be a better kick (although Wilkes can also kick it 55m and nailed a couple of rippers tonight), but Wilkes has much more of a physical presence from what I saw tonight and his second and third efforts and tackling and chasing looked much better than Kosi's, so I think that at least evens things up. He also threw his weight around more than Kosi, which is something that we've missed up forward in recent times.
Kosi and Roo (and now Stanley) all have their very positive attributes (some more than others), but none of them are physically strong for their height and all get pushed off the ball very easily at times and Wilkes could give us that muscle up there that the others lack. He looked very well suited to full forward tonight and I reckon Melbourne would have been thrilled when he was subbed off (especially when we kicked it long to Milney four times in a row in the last quarter, only for him to be comprehensively beaten in the air each time).
Hard to know how Wilkes will go against better opposition just yet, but he would have lost no friends last Saturday night
