Re: Brendon Goddard says he will stay at St Kilda
for a minute there i actually thought he said he was signing, will sign and wont be going anywhere
saying you havent fielded any offers from other clubs is kind of the same
i guess

Re: Brendon Goddard says he will stay at St Kilda
Interesting headline....
If he has told his managment, and the club that he wants to stay, and they have been meeting....better than where I thought it was at to be honest.
They'll have a bit of cash, Roo goes onto Veterans next year.
btw, I just put the HS headline out of habit, if the mods want to change it to 'jon ralph says BJ and club have opened discussions' it's probably a better indication?

Re: Brendon Goddard says he will stay at St Kilda
Roo would be on the veterans this year wouldn't he? Hasn't it changed this year? If not, only $100K of his salary will be on the veterans list next year, from how I believe the new vet list system works.
And it sounds like BJ wants to have a better year than he did last year, before signing a new contract, so that he can get more money than he probably would if signed it now.

THis link may work better for some.

His tenth year at the club and I just realised his name is Brendon not Brendan.

Re: Brendon Goddard says he will stay at St Kilda
i reckon that story came direct from bj's manager dan richardson, to solicit offers from other clubs and tell them it's now or never. richardson wouldn't be happy that "the 26-year-old does not have an offer from GWS", and who else would know that?kosifantutti wrote:Well that was a real nothing story.
quite a few more chapters to go in this story...

Re: Brendon Goddard says he will stay at St Kilda
In all honesty,if BJ doesn't receive one of these multi million dollar deals from one of the expansion clubs, and still leaves us,it would be poor form. There is absolutley no reason for him to walk out, with Roo going onto the veteran list, surely we can give him an offer that is very competitive. Get it done

Re: Brendon Goddard says he will stay at St Kilda
When does BJ go on vets list?
Next year?
Could all work out quite peachy could it not?

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Well this is good enough for me. It is kind of useless and almost funny when supporters fret about a playing not resigning as if the show will not go on and the football club will come to a dramatic stop.

matrix, if you go through google news and search google news with the headline you can get hold of the full article.
Re: Brendon Goddard says he will stay at St Kilda
Thats my understanding, though Roo would be up for a pretty big hair cut i'd imagine. BJ would be the number 1 paid player from next year, which would be about right IMO.AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:Roo would be on the veterans this year wouldn't he? Hasn't it changed this year? My understanding is the new Vets list rule is, 10 years of service regardless of age, so next year would be correct.Thinline wrote:When does BJ go on vets list?
