Record vs Freo
We have never lost to Fremantle at the Docklands (6 matches).
We have not lost at all to Fremantle since Round 9 2007 (8 matches).
Fremantle has not beaten us in Melbourne since our very first clash in 1995 at Waverley.
Gee I hope we keep those three streaks going this Friday.

Re: Record vs Freo
Fyfe, assuming he's out, is a massive out.
Really looking fwd to see if our game plan has evolved as much as we are possibly starting to think.
Could be a 20 all draw otherwise.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
Re: Record vs Freo
Ross isn't going to recognise the backline
Guys playing in front of their man, marking the ball, playing on....
I mean Seany for example, a career high 23 disposals.
He'll be in a state of shock if Scotty keeps up that kind of directive with the defenders

Re: Record vs Freo
Hope we don't see battle-chess,
Freo-Bears was ominous 8 goals to 5, & only 20 inside 50's to the bears
I hope we put them to the sword early, as the lock-down style becomes a bit pointless when you are well behind.
It's fair to say that Rosco is aware of most the strengths/weaknesses of our list, will be a very interesting match I think.
Nat Fyfe is a huge loss, he is a special talent.

Re: Record vs Freo
Is he a loss yet?
Depends if they decide to go down the surgery path I guess.
Changes to the side since Ross last coached them v Sydney
Out Dawson, Raph, Gram, Peake, Schneider, Ray
In LENNY!!!!! Simpkin, Stanley, Milera, Newnes, Cripps
Bit of a different look.
Few positional changes as well, Dempster more of a defender, Stanley key forward, Armo in the middle...

Re: Record vs Freo
massive game!
we have to win against freo and dees. we then have 3 real toughies.
if we win against freo and dees and then 1 of the next 3 ill be very happy. 5 from 8 wil be a big tick.

But what if that places us 7th. You wanted to tank after 11 rounds if we were 7th, how do you feel if it is only 8 rounds.

There's no way back after losing to port in round 1.

Re: Record vs Freo
I have slightly revised my tanking policy in the recent few weeks based on the following new information:plugger66 wrote:Con Gorozidis wrote:massive game!

1. Our youngsters are better than what I thought and the performane of our rookies.
2. The patheticness of Melbourne (although Carlton's current form almost offsets that)
In any case round 12 is a long way off. But I my policy is slighly less extreme now now the 2 reasons mentioned above.
I am perfectly entitled to change my policy based on new information.

Re: Record vs Freo
Is Armo in the middle though? (If you mean most of the time) Still looks to be playing half forward from what I've seen, with a few stints in the middle thrown in. Was watching the replay on Fox yesterday and Gerard Healy and co kept going on about how he needed to get his stats up from around 18 to 28, but that's pretty hard when you're spending most of the match playing in the forward line.SainterK wrote:Armo in the middle...

Someone coached us in that final last year?

The players couldn't have played that poorly without some "guidance".stevie wrote:SainterK wrote:Is he a loss yet?

Re: Record vs Freo
What a laugh.......Seany!!!!!! I assume you are referring to Dempster?? Nothing against the bloke, he is quite a good player however the reason he got a PB in disposals is that they kept kicking it backwards to him because he was lurking around our defensive goal sqaure by himself. Go back and watch the replay!!!SainterK wrote:Ross isn't going to recognise the backline

I nominate that we all put citywest in our "ignore" list. If we stop feeding him/her they will have no need to keep trolling here.

Re: Record vs Freo
FWIW I think came second in terms of Supercoach pts, so suspect his performance was a bit more multi-faceted than simply being a go to retreat man.citywest wrote:What a laugh.......Seany!!!!!! He's much underrated Dempster. Happy for him to remain so. Seems to suit him.

Hope he's right to go.
Can play midfield/forward on him.

We wont it to be Fisher but RL wont want Fisher free so it may end up being him. The other option is Blake or a surprise could be Dempster. Fit enough to run with Pav but his only problem is that he doesnt really play tall.

Fisher usually gets Pav, including when he plays in the middle.

BTW, how do you put someone in the "ignore list"? I looked into it, but it only brought up the "friends" list and the "ignore" one, or whatever it's called, wouldn't come up.
