Re: Are we confident?
The Doggies will be the toughest test of the year so far. We will need to go up a level or two from how we played last week.
Again it will come down to who wins the midfield.

i'm so confident i'm going down the tab right now to put $100 on footscray. $2.75 is a great price for mine.

Re: Are we confident?
Same here. I thought that was a huge danger game, as they had shown really good form in the NAB Cup, while we'd had a poor lead up and were probably at least one game behind in our preparation, plus it was in Adelaide. I don't see this weeks game as any harder than that, as I reckon at the moment Port in Adelaide are just as good as the WB in Melb, if not better. Port's terrific effort here last week against Essendon helped to confirm that view.matrix wrote:was less confident going into the port game
Aside from the genuinely one-sided umpiring that game, we most likely cost ourselves the win with our incredibly lacklustre start to the match. Last week, while we were only playing GC, our intensity was back and I'd say as a result we won by 72 more than we beat them by late last year. If that intensity and ferocity is back again this week, or better, especially early, then I don't see the Bulldogs having what it takes to win, unless we're terribly poor in some other area, or they play out of their minds. They finished 10th last season for a reason and have since lost Barry Hall, are without Morris and Williams down back and are reportedly in "rebuild mode".
It's important that we have a solid if not very convincing win and that we believe that we are still good enough to do so.

Re: Are we confident?
I think we'll win easily.
Also seems there may be a late change for the Dogs, not sure if it's just their tinkering or to accomodate for one of ours?

Tory Dickson pulled off ground at Nth Ballarat, bound for Etihad. Late change for Dogs?

Me too.
I reckon we'll win by 8 goals or more.

Well yes, Port Adelaide - with five 50s against us, it's almost impossible to win - after all we were only 5 points down.AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:.matrix wrote:was less confident going into the port game

I'm reasonably confident, but don't forget, the Bulldogs were always the darlings of the media and the umpires - this worries me a bit.

If the media have any bearing tonight the game is in real trouble and it isnt much better if the umpires think a side is darlings.

Dogs really need this... Pressure on them IMO and the "saints have wood on you" hype will see them desperate. Will depend how we can back up
2 games. They arent a bottom 4 side. Will be tough. 50/50 game if I have ever seen one
gws gc demons lions dogs power are bottom 6.

Looks like their very very ordinary forward line is going to a big big problem for the scray ALL YEARCairnsman wrote:We've got an ordinary backline so that probably evens things out.bobmurray wrote:I'm not confident but i am very hopeful...

Re: Are we confident?
No offence to them, but they were truly awful. Seriously not sure if they were any better than GC last week. If they'd been playing someone like Carlton tonight they could genuinely have lost by 120-150 points. We let them off the hook time and time again and then put the cue in the rack in a huge way for most of the last quarter.

Re: Are we confident?
Yep. Their forward line and maybe a couple of other areas of concern also. I'm really looking forward to seeing how our backline shapes up against some decent oppostion also. The other thing I'm looking forward to is seeing how Roo goes against a team with a decent backline and defensive structure. Don't take anything away from him against the Dogs. He looked like he was getting some touch back (dind't set the world on fire) but when you compare it to his perfromances over the past 12 months it was a quantum leap but he now needs to deliver against some decent teams and players over the lenght of a season. As they say in the clasics one game doesn't...bobmurray wrote:Looks like their very very ordinary forward line is going to a big big problem for the scray ALL YEARCairnsman wrote:We've got an ordinary backline so that probably evens things out.bobmurray wrote:I'm not confident but i am very hopeful...
