Im not usually a lane swapper............... but
forgive me fellow saintsationalists, I couldn't help myself the other morning.
I was driving home from my early morning swim in the ocean at South Beach, Freo when stopped for some traffic lights, I noticed Ross Lyon driving the car beside me.
When the lights changed I took off like a hoon and promptly changed lanes and pulled in front of Lyon............. hoping he would get an eyeful of my Saints numberplate and my 2012 Saint membership sticker on my rear window. Just to be sure he would see them every 50 metres or so I would put on my brakes and delight in watching the front bonnet of his car dip a little
After about half a kilometre, he swapped to the other lane......................... so your's truly, once more playing the hoon sped up and swapped lanes to be in front of him............ I noticed in my rear vision mirror he had quite a grin on his face. He eventually turned off to a street on the left. Don't know if he wanted to go that way or he just wanted to be rid of me
Now I'm usually the most law abiding driver, have never had a traffic infringement notice in my whole driving career, nor even a bingle................. which is something I pride myself on over my 48 plus years driving history.
However, I did get a great deal of satisfaction causing a nuisance of myself to Ross Lyon o South Street Freo the other morning We Sainters have to fly the flag methinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I promise to go back to being a safety conscious driver again forumites............. as to tell the truth I'm a little bit about being such a hoon

John Butler is there alot, also Luke Longley with his kids and dog. Quite often see performers who have been appearing at 'Fly By Night Club' having a dip at South Beach.
I'm down Perth end of Vic Park. Where the American Motor Cycle shop and old Vic Park Primary School is.

Re: Im not usually a lane swapper............... but
He sure did Eastern.................. in his Defensive Driving Course....................... all those years ago I attended I think the first course they set up in Wodonga.Eastern wrote:Hey Loris,

John told me at the time it was rather important I attended one after I drove him home one night from a RoSTA function in my Mini Cooper.............. he told me I didn't know how to handle the Cooper properly if I got into an emergency situation. My gawd that course was 'hair raising' for teaching one how to drive a car.......but I passed
Do you know if John is still alive? An ex-colleague from RoSTA told me some years back that he had rather severe heart problems.

Well he definitely found it difficult to go forward..................... especially when I put the "press" on. Forced him to go laterally...... Kept him in his comfort zonesaintspremiers wrote:Like his coaching, I assume he was driving defensively??

Great yarn there Loris. Lyon was living in Bicton near a friend of mine, we are moving up to Perth from Busso soon and might be nearby.

Re: Im not usually a lane swapper............... but
good job
however if you see him again , maybe you could slam on the brakes so he rear ends you , then sell the story to the tabloids how the man went crazy and tried to run you off the road , they're sure to believe a lovable senior like you ( im only assuming your a senior due to your 48 yrs driving experience )

Loris, I saw him about 18 months ago and looked better than he had for years. I'll make some enquiries and let you know !!
