Re: Watters on SEN tomorrow 7.30am
I heard most of it whilst in the bleary haze of driving to work. Might be able to vaguely recall some of it.
Scott was very articulate and diplomatic as usual.
Tim/Andy asked if he felt pressure as it had been said that the Saints were going to play with more 'flair'. Scott said he had never used the word 'flair'.
They talked about defense and Scott said that very sound defense was an imperative to winning critical games.
A caller raised concerns about us being short of a monster type defender and Scott acknowledged that they had identified this as a concern and needed to find someone in that mould. He said that they would try to cover this potential weakness through their defensive set up.
Scott said it was an exciting time watching the team at present and that whilst the abilities of the 'Dals, Goddards, Montagnas were well known and documented, it very exciting, for example, watching an Ahmed Saad applying defensive
pressure and wondering how good he could become.
And as he's said on many occasions, everybody can potentially get a game but every spot will be earnt through solid performance.
Andy (I think) talked about Roo being double and triple teamed so much last year and asked if he may be used differently
up the field, on a wing, behind the ball or at CHB. I think Scott said Roo is very versatile and could potentially do all of
those things at times. It has become very difficult to have only one main forward target and forward line needs to be
multi-pronged.
Can't remember too much more but a lot more was said.

I can't help but notice how he has embraced our club. Maybe unfairly - but compared to RL who spoke about us in the 3rd person for months, SW talks about "us" "we" even when referring to the past. Only a small thing I know but it has impressed me.

Though Doc, you must check out the recent interview on saints.com.au with Milne and Saad, Stephen handles himself really well.

However in reading that other thread about it some are suggesting that he'd have a few problems on karaoke night if he tried to belt out Joan Armatrading's "Me Myself I"

Andy Maher tried to push some racist crap about the 2:2 rule but Scotty put him back in his place.
A Maher = douchebag.
Scott W = top bloke.

I started a thread about Maher a few months ago. He annoys me intensely. Don't see what people find in his favour. Thread went for days....80-20 against I would say.

Maher is a legend and very good at his job.
Watters has been head coach for 20 mins, and only spoken about how good pre season has been and he is a top bloke...

I think they haven't put up Scotty's audio becuase it wasn't really an interview.
He was more a in studio guest, that and I don't think they can be bothered uploading 20 mins of audio
