He didn't he would of loved to play for many more years but he knew his body was done he retired willingly and was happy to do so but he would love to still be playing if his body hadn't given up

Yes but i took that it was forced retirement which clearly it wasnt.

Def not a forced retirement the club woul have loved for him to go again but the injurys were mounting and taking longer to heal ... We got the absolute 100% we could out of Gardi looking back he should be very proud of how he turned his career around with us

Well said Trav.

Gardi's career was every bit in the toilet as Cousins was...but with less publicity. The fact he was able to turn his career, and more importantly, his personal life around and overcome the demons plaguing him, is something he and the club should be proud of. He gave his all for the club and almost got us there in 2009.

I would say it had a lot to do with the team sydney played against us. With out Dal santo and montagna in the midfield and no real options with rebound defenders with Clarke, Gilbert and Gwilt missing it made us look a little less impressive. Big Mac isn't a brilliant ruck man yet but he will be soon.

very harsh on macca. i reckon he is really very good and still developing.
nice if he got a bit of relief from time to time. poor bugger shouldering a big load this year and last.
if macca goes down we truly are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaked.
