Re: Terry Milera
Both he and Saad showed some good signs. Very nice goal on the run from Terry - goals from midfield is something we've been crying out for, for years.

Re: Terry Milera
i though he was a bit of the "steak knives" with the deal for Saad but the kid has a real bit of go about him reminds me of Aaron Davey when he first came on the scene bit of pace and a good appetite for a goal

Don't think he will be able to stand up to the physicality of the real stuff.
Has everything else going for him though.

Can add some speed not just to the forward line, but also in the midfield as a rover.
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!

Maybe Hammer can work with him in the gym and help him bulk up in the right places.
Needs more of an upper body.

Speaking to an elderly bloke behind me who obviously knew his stuff.
Said Lenny has said he was the most skilled player he had played with. Interesting!

Re: Terry Milera
I would be picking him before Saad on last nights effort. Did not think Saad did enough. Good in bursts though, but not enough of them. Still, early days yet.
Re: Terry Milera
Watched him in the warm up and he kicked a ball with his left making me think he was a left footer.
He then practiced his goal kicking with his right. Impressive on both sides. His finish in the 2nd half was all class.

I don't think we can expect Saad to dominate when he is playing with the best small forward in the comp
That goal where Saad crumbed and hanballed to Milne, who snapped into an open goal could be a scary proposition this season
Milera's natural kicking style reminds me so much of Nick Dal Santo, to hear that he can do it on both sides is impressive

Re: Terry Milera
In the practice video he just scoops up balls with his feet and handles a ball like a harlem globetrotter. He has an innate ability to use the ball well. You don't need to be big to play, Aaron Davey never got bigger and it didn't stop him being something special. I though he and Shenton both had something exciting about them, SANFL was a handy place to send recruiters. Saad I expect to get better because he hasn't even been playing long and he was exciting in the VFL given time he should get his confidence up and he could be magic. Saad and Milera are hard to tell apart at ground level so I could have credited each with the others possessions from the other end.

Re: Terry Milera
yeah i noticed in that training video how he passed the ball to roo picking it up with a foot scoop . far more difficult to do than it looks. the guy is a real talent. and did some hard as nails tackles. like him a lot.gringo wrote:In the practice video he just scoops up balls with his feet and handles a ball like a harlem globetrotter. We shouldn't be surprised
The goal in this video
Is near identical to the one he scored on Friday night

Re: Terry Milera
Can't remember a quicker St Kilda player, speed to burn. Didn't do a lot, but what he did do, I am very excited with him and Saad! Great trade.

Interesting to see Lenny's opinion that he is the most skilled player he has played with. That is a huge wrap.

Re: Terry Milera
The question will be though, does he get enough of it and does he have the endurance to play four quarters of AFL senior footy, where he has to run almost the whole time?
I've heard a few times in recent days that the new interchange sub rule is possibly going to really reduce the liklihood of those with super speed, but not great endurance, being able to get a game in the AFL.
Apparently those recruiting for the clubs are already starting to put a line through anyone that doesn't have great endurance, even if they are super quick and skilled, as the sub rule is making it hard to fit them into the 22. If they go and make it two interchange and two "subs" next year, that will make it even worse for those with great speed, but average endurance.
Hopefully Terry has the endurance, otherwise it may be hard for him to get a game in this new environment, even if he does have incredible skills.
