Inspector Gadget (Dustin Fletcher) has just been announced as a playing coach for this year, combining being a player as an
Assistant coach of some capacity, to provide a seamless transition in the future.
Are there any Saints that could do this?
Could Lenny be offered a similar role perhaps next season, his likely final season?
Could be a good way to test the water and if it works, you can then lock the player into a conventional assistant role once they hang up the boots.
Playing coaching role.

Re: Playing coaching role.
Lenny is the one! Has been doing a bit of coaching down at Oakleigh U/18's for the last couple of years. I have heard that he is was very involved in teaching our younger mids a few tricks also last season..
IMO modern day players should concentrate on playing only whilst still running around. Maybe 2-3 hrs a week for the experience. Fletch the Letch sounds like he will be doing a fair bit more than that.
FWIW I think that Lenny will be an elite AFL coach in the future.

Re: Playing coaching role.
Why?
Let him keep playing without having any distractions.
How do you know he would be interested?

Stephen King was coaching as well in his last two playing years.
