I heard Pelchan say he plays in and out which is similar to Pendles and Dal. That would ideal I think.suss wrote:I hadn't seen the herald sun interview/profile with Ross before today but he seems like a determined young kid. He doesn't remind me of Pendelbury at all though - looks like more of an inside mid to me.
Ross like Pendles and Dal and Newnes is a Lenny Hayes type. We dont like to hype up our kids do we? Im waiting for the tassie boy to be BJ, Markworth to be like ROK and Lever to be the next Fletcher.
I wish they just let them forge their own career without comparisons.

Pendlebury is very much an inside player.suss wrote:I hadn't seen the herald sun interview/profile with Ross before today but he seems like a determined young kid. He doesn't remind me of Pendelbury at all though - looks like more of an inside mid to me.
If Seb is half as good in heavy traffic then we've got a ripper.

I think it's nice to know what sort of player they are, or could become, and comparison with those who we are familiar with is a great way of demonstrating that.saintbrat wrote:I actually didn' like the way the herald sun pre draft were doing' is this the next....' can't they be the new best thing rather than just like someone elseSt Ick wrote:Ross like Pendles and Dal and Newnes is a Lenny Hayes type. There's a hell of a difference between saying that someone plays like/looks similar in style to someone we already know and saying he'll be as good as, or better than them.
All they'd be saying is that he plays a similar style to Pendles and maybe reminds them of him (like when Pendlebury was drafted and they said he reminded them of Dal Santo). They won't be saying that he'll be as good as him (although they'll be hoping like hell that he is!).
