Re: Familiar Names to Return
This poster is almost always correct. Goodness.PLUGGER14 wrote:I have it on very good authority that 2 favorite sons will be returning to the club in some capacity for 2012. One of which will be a HUGE shock given not so long ago media reports........
I am becoming more & more impressed with the new upbeat culture (for lack of a better word) that is emanating out of LHC at present. If this can be translated on to the playing field we are going to be a very serious contender!!
Please do not ask for my source or the names as I will not be forthcoming suffice to say when it is announced there will be some big female smiles around the place

One line coach is still to be named, defensive i think.Kernal75 wrote:Sorry am I missing something here, siants have appoineted all their line coaches for 2012 the only outstaninding position is Head of the acedemy. Unlikely that Max will return I think..
Also the development academy director, and still haven't replaced Mission as the strength and conditioning coach.
And welcome to SS!

Have appointed Peter Burge (ex-hawks) as Misson's replacement.shmic_s wrote:One line coach is still to be named, defensive i think.Kernal75 wrote:Sorry am I missing something here, siants have appoineted all their line coaches for 2012 the only outstaninding position is Head of the acedemy. I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Burge is high performance manager. Not sure if Mission was offically high performance manager or strength & conditioning. But did forget about Burge.

I thought that all of the main coaching positions were settled?
What "hands-on" roles are left that would attract a guy like Max?
Maybe Aaron and Warnie are coming back (Warnie played a game in the thirds).
opps - just saw the above post, with an Assistant Coach still open, by the look of things

no...we couldn't give him away...not that we didn't try....Bono wrote:Given we have given away Dawson for nothing, the timing of Max's return is perfect as we don't have anyone to play full back. I would have preferred to see Clarke, Polo and Peake go before Dawson. Half back flankers are a lot easier to find than key position players.

which would have been used on Daniel Wells ... arguably he would have been just as (if not more) injury prone in the early days given the record of our conditioning department pre-Misson.stinger wrote:Heidelberg_Saint wrote:Plappy and the Wulf Man?
now there's a blast from the past.....the wolf man actually cost us a priority pick.....

I assume max would again be Part time if that was to be the case- and could be extra to the last Line coach.
Pelchen I think said early this week or last that applications for the academy director positon only ended last Friday and would take a couple of weeks
interesting to read that Claremont in the WAFL ( McPhee's origin) are still to find a new coach and are doing as Most/ all AFL teams do and putting appicants through Psychological testing.

NO but it's under discussion and the reason that some teams got close to $$3 mill from the AFL and others just a paltry 1 mill (( pies - who also made a profit of 3 mill so I can;'t see why they got any)borderbarry wrote:On the point of coaches, just how many do Collingwood have? 9 shown on their site, not including part timers apparently. Is there any limit on coach numbers?
and the pies have previously stated that theya re aiming at 1 to 1 be it medical / training/ football... currently about 1-3 .
when you then see the North list and the Port list- ..
ours has basicly doubled with the Academy staff included
Pies have line coaches and then line development coaches.. then the Caoches coach.

And they also have 70K members so good luck to them. It is up to our club to build on our ordinary membership.saintbrat wrote:NO but it's under discussion and the reason that some teams got close to $$3 mill from the AFL and others just a paltry 1 mill (( pies - who also made a profit of 3 mill so I can;'t see why they got any)borderbarry wrote:On the point of coaches, just how many do Collingwood have? 9 shown on their site, not including part timers apparently.
