Very worried that they are trying to make Stanley a ruckman ... would rather he was made a key forward ... especially in an era that transition into the forward fifty is becoming a foot race.

I dont think Cripps has been lucky at all. He reads the play brilliantly. I would have him a long way before Ledger, and in front of Sipposs. I think all three are in front of Simpkin.

All 4 play in different positions so they wont be up against each other which is good.

In case you havent noticed they are all in the same team, so they wont be up against each other.

I've yet to see this 'good kicking' in the AFL or VFL. He shanks it a lot. I know when he was drafted, the reports said he was a good kick, but he hasn't shown it yet.

Hope he can improve in this aspect.
I haven't seen any evidence he can kick more than about 25m.
He seems to kick the ball with his ankle all loose and floppy.
(But he's probably got the best goal-to-kicks ratio than anyone in history.)

as a 200cm player you have to do both frankly

Like Kosi. If Stanley bulked up he could play ruck maybe.

Dare say we haven't seen enough of Cripps to know what he is capable of, or where else he could play.

Looks more of a dour Bakes-type from this footage, which by the way is far from flattering…

Hopefully he can play off half-back, using his nice foot skills, and release Goddard to roam further up the ground...

Speaking of Cripps, was'nt Jamie seen at a Sandy event recently? If so, any chance of getting him back as an assistant coach?

Has anyone actually seen his "nice foot skills" yet. He's done OK and kicked a few goals but I don't think his kicking skills have been his highlight. Unless you count dribbling goals from 10m out great kicking skills.
I hope like all of us he is a gun, but let's see him deliver the pill to others before we rate his skills.

If Bakes was on speed and was playing the ball more than the man. Seriously though he looked like he close checks but doesn't mind running off and being creative. Good under pressure as well, I liked the way he goes about it. Compared to Winmar he looked incredible.
