Worth a listen
Referred to the move of Ross to Freo as a clandestine operation....( in response to a question about how quickly its come about as our role appeared to already be filled until Ross left)
I agree it was a clandestine operation...just surprised to hear Scotty saying it...sounds like he woun't be pulling any punches

Funny the club using that radio station ... Maybe the bubble has gone ....

I just listened to the 3AW one from the other day.
He is very impressive every time I listen to him. And the interviewers seemed to be impressed with him too. He even talked in the 3AW interview about our media relations not being what they should be, and again using the word we in relation to things that happened over the last 12 to 24 months. While he's drawing a line in the sand, he is not trying to distance himself from what has gone before him.
It sounds like he is very well rounded with experience in lots of areas, including the media.
Very good start Scotty.

I believe this bit towards the end of the interview is pertinent to a hot topic concerning us right now.
91.3: You've obviously spoken to Robert Harvey, do you have much of an idea of whether or not he'll stay at the club?
SW: Oh, look, I've got my own feel on that, but ultimately that's Robert's decision and we've made it really clear that, you know, under the circumstances we'd love to have him here, but it's really up to Robert, I mean, he's wanting to become the best coach that he can be and wants to develop further, and he has to weigh up whether he sees that being here in a system where people are familiar with how he works, or whether it's a case of, you know, a fresh start somewhere else where he can perhaps re-shape the way people think about him. So it's really his call, but either way we're going to respect his decision.
91.3: They're using the word "pleaded". It's being said that you pleaded with Robert Harvey to stay at the club, why is he so important to the St. Kilda Football Club?
SW: Look, I didn't use the word "pleaded", so first of all that's perhaps a journo imagining or taking liberty, but, look, we had a terrific conversation - he's an outstanding, outstanding bloke - so, look, we just sat down, I really wanted to know what he wanted to get out of it, and where he saw his best pathway, and it's really nothing more than that. It's been reported that he was upset with the club, I think that's an indictment on his character to actually suggest that. It's been a really controlled discussion, and it is about what's best for Robert. Why would I like him here? He's a great person, he's a great coach, and he's very important to this club just from, I guess, his legacy and what he's done as a player, so that opportunity would always be presented.

Yes, I noticed that too.
What I can't understand is why Harvey is not saying anything. All the speculation is hurting us. Watters shouldn't have to be fending this off in every interview. He needs to make his decision and act on it.
