Never a shortage of people looking for these positions. What is harder though is finding someone experienced and with a good history.

I'd imagine at least a few people who have been there for the past few years would still be around (people who have lesser roles). Like the Physio's, 'medical officers' and people in the sports science area. So it's not like the club isn't currently without anyone at all.

Hopefully someone replied to these ads.....

The role involves liaison with the Senior Coach and other coaches to deliver desired outcomes within the team framework. Buttifant is being paid a fortune to stay at the Pies ... he's one person they have stitched up unfortunately.

Don't necessarily need to get someone who has been in the AFL system for this position, although it would be nice ...

Would like to see someone really innovative and forward-thinking and really keen to expand and contribute to excellence in this area of our footy club.

Buttifant didn't have a huge experience in footy (just some part-time with North, and played himself) before starting at Collingwood.

It would seem to me that this is a "known industry" - you have/can show the Science qualifications, your experience is a known quantity, your industry knowledge is well known.

Whatever the Sport is, as long as it is a "high performance" area, the candidates should be suitable.
