MICK Malthouse, who oversaw Scott Watters both as a player and prospective coach, believes St Kilda has appointed a man who will unite the club and make it feel good about itself.
Malthouse, who coached Watters for three years at West Coast and recruited him to the Collingwood coaching panel two years ago, said the 42-year-old had an ability to make groups of people connect and understand each other.
''From the outside looking in - and I really don't want this to be painted in a bad way - but they look as though they could do with a bit of a cuddle. I think Scotty will give them that bit of a cuddle.

Saintsydney, Scotty to Hotty was a wimp, Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner a much better comparison, cos to football smarts, let's hope he's a genetic freak.

funny though....
He has a point.
Lyin has the warmth of a typical Russian!
Not true...
If you were a senior player, and you were someone he considered close, I think you got a lot of love.
That wasn't the issue.
I loved reading about the time he spent one on one with some of the young players at Collingwood like Reid, that kind of stuff has nothing to do with club resources or time.
I'm rapt.
Have to agree with malthouse. Our players have looked like blokes under siege under pressure and under stress the last 12 months.
And our young and fringe players seem pretty un happy. Walsh lynch stanley smith winmar could all probably do with some good old fashioned love.
(Too late for lynch I know).
We may need a 'bad cop' assistant. Shame we could not get milburne.
Laidley is a potential bad cop but needs to stop going on family holidays and getting in fights . Strange idea of father /son bonding.

Con, Lynch has gone to the Crows. Just saying.
