Can't blame the bloke if he chases cash, he came over here as a 'career' move, it's not like he followed the game as a child and has always loved our club.
He doesn't even know if he can make it yet, might aswell take the most money while he finds out I suppose.
We have to match the offer and promise some game time if we really want him, simple as that… ditch some old hats if our cap is squeezed.

Cant understand Walsh's logic in some respects.
Sure, if its money we need to at least be near it to keep him but surely purely from a profile/earning capaity he's far better off in melb than in no mans land sydney?
The guys a young player looking to make his name.....Id choose Melb over Syd from an AFL perspective anyday and the endorsements given the media profile IF he makes a splash here are surely far more enticing???? I mean FFS.......the game IS Melbourne.

Walsh has got nothing to lose in meeting the Swans. But how do we know he's not going along with this in an attempt to push up the Saints offer? If I was his manager I'd tell him to jump on the plane.

sounds a tad hopeful Dr......if he's meeting their medical team he aint playing scrabble....long way to go to push up his price......"lets do a medical" isnt the usual method....Dr Spaceman wrote:As I posted elsewhere:Teflon wrote:Cant understand Walsh's logic in some respects.

No question the Irish git fadg Kanhardly has been in the ear with his gilry line dancing version.....
See how TW goes when he finds out Sydney's full of Protestants.

Well if you're trying to push up your price you've gotta look serious. And you don't look serious if you don't follow through. It's a trip to Sydney and a check up by the Doc. No biggie.Teflon wrote:sounds a tad hopeful Dr......if he's meeting their medical team he aint playing scrabble....long way to go to push up his price......"lets do a medical" isnt the usual method....Dr Spaceman wrote:As I posted elsewhere:Teflon wrote:Cant understand Walsh's logic in some respects.

Anyway, like I said in another thread, let's poach Kennelly as an assistant coach

I bloody well hope the new bloke doesn't do anything of the sort!bigcarl wrote:Well I hope the new bloke tells him he's in the Round 1 team at full forward.
If that's going to be the sort of methodology he is going to apply to team selection, then I will definitely be the first to start a "sack the coach" thread!!

Well the reports are that perhaps Scott has known for up to 24 hours so perhaps he's already been hard at it.meher baba wrote:I bloody well hope the new bloke doesn't do anything of the sort!bigcarl wrote:Well I hope the new bloke tells him he's in the Round 1 team at full forward.

Maybe he doesn't believe in four-year apprenticeships like Lyin' and is willing to play some shots.meher baba wrote:I bloody well hope the new bloke doesn't do anything of the sort!bigcarl wrote:Well I hope the new bloke tells him he's in the Round 1 team at full forward.

If he doesn't (and I fully expect he will) we definitely have the wrong candidate.

I feel really pissed off with Tommy, rookies are different from afl players on full lists. they are given opportunity and development time. we have put heaps into him and if he walks he is officially a huge Irish twat. He is still a work in progress and shouldn't hold a team to ransom when he gets an offer.meher baba wrote:I bloody well hope the new bloke doesn't do anything of the sort!bigcarl wrote:Well I hope the new bloke tells him he's in the Round 1 team at full forward.

I hate the swans as well, it is probably the same scenario as Dempster and Schnides leaving after their successful era but we didn't come cherry picking.
I can't help thinking Ross, Roos and Longmire have been conspiring, as Ross despite what he showed rated him a potential 1st round pick if not an international.
that pick 35 adelaide gave them has really put us up s*** creek!!!
we need to make a trade now to get a higher 30's pick. if we can get dawson to freo we might be able to wrestle a pick from brisbane via the clark trade.
another alternative is sending gram to north and somehow trading some picks around.

I hope the paddy dog gets picked with Freo's first pick and he enjoys another 5 years at South Freo.defacto wrote:that pick 35 adelaide gave them has really put us up s*** creek!!!

I don't need evidence to become emotionally outraged. If he hasn't shown blind loyalty he is now off the christmas list.Leo.J wrote:I'm lazy and can't be bother reading 10 pages worth.
But is there any hard evidence to suggest anything is really happening re Tommy Walsh...
Or is this just another example of hack journalism during liars week?

He will be way off the list although his dad was a saint! I think our newbies look like similar prospects now anyway. Mumford would be nice.defacto wrote:if we have to trade then i reckon we go in hard:

if we can somehow jump up in spots in the draft that'd be great as well. something like pick 42 for pick 35.
rohan would be a great get though!!!
