I know youre not that naive mate...borderbarry wrote:Goddared and all of our trolls for pick 40. They must take ALL of the trolls though.
Goddard is our best player and possibly future captain...i would hate to lose him like all saints supporters...
However if we are in as much salary cap pressure as is suggested, i also would hate to see 6 of our players exit in one mass exitess.
At least we could retain more players and get the nexg 'judd'

I'm not having a go at anyone ( the original poster here or past posts on a Goddard trade) and anything under the sun is up for discussion .. but there's some ideas that should not perhaps be discussed openly on a public forum.
Just the thought of putting Goddard up for trade should send shivers down true sainter spines... I don't care what we may get for him, it would still not be enough.
Perish the thought !

Why cos he's a West Aussie or have you heard something?st_Trav_ofWA wrote:he might end up at Freo or WCE before to long ...
GC would want a Judd like deal. I have no doubt O'Meara will be the premier player in the comp within a few years.
Re: Jaegar o'meara
I would be surprised if GC and GWS don't win a flag or two with the talent they have on their rosters. You'd think the majority of the players stick with the expansion clubs then perhaps after winning a flag they move to their club of choice under FA similar to what Ablett has done.dragit wrote:He could do a Buckley, leave & watch his old side win multiple flags... Still brings me joy, that one.
There is a strong WA connection at GC so not sure what trav says is correct. From what I've read O'Meara has very close family ties back home so that's where his rumour or opinion may come from however I've also read that he has a strong bond with the other WA kids at GC.

Re: Jaegar o'meara
just an opinion ... i know WCE were keeping a good eye on him all the way through his junior footy and i know Freo were very keen on doing a trade with GWS for him as a 17 year old ....Old Mate wrote:Why cos he's a West Aussie or have you heard something?st_Trav_ofWA wrote:he might end up at Freo or WCE before to long ...

i have no idea if he is wanting to come home but i know both WCE and Freo will be working hard on trying to convince him....

Re: Jaegar o'meara
Not directly on topic but kind of, heard a rumour on the weekend that G Ablett will ask for a trade at the end of this year, out of contract. One of those ones I find hard to believe but fascinated by the stir it would cause!
Maybe this year?
