LOL...Fasolo would not have had a run in the seniors all year if his coach was LyonSaintPav wrote:Lockyer or Medhurst.BigMart wrote:Fasolo or Goldsack

it'll be interesting to see if Lyon's learnt anything or if he'll show faith in young guys and instill confidence in them... i think not

I understand you are confused....you seem to think you know everything, and yet dont understand everything?? Must be confusing....
Great match day coach....is Ross
Most would agree, i have been a little critical of his use of young players and their development.....he is an outstanding tactical coach....leader of men....
His weakness....and where he is behind Malthouse....development of players

Funny but a great coach surely has to be great also before the game and during the week. I think you really do confuse yourself many times.BigMart wrote:I understand you are confused....you seem to think you know everything, and yet dont understand everything?? Must be confusing....

All great coaches have weaknesses
He was a GREAT coach......not a perfect coach....not too difficult to understand....and his weakness was obvious
Not eveyone is perfect....which i have tried to explain to you and the moron chronies who believed he could do NO wrong and any critisism of him was blasphomy.....One of them has now turned....
He made many, many mistakes....very poor in the 2009 GF.....Because
2009 was his greatest year as a match day coach....his worst in terms of selection, recruiting and development....he dropped the ball....and was shortsighted...
Two years later the penalty....

Did i not say he was a great coach when he was at stk???
I thought that is what plugger was alluding to.....and how i was now being critical
Now your saying the opposite
Why did i bag him after a loss??
Isnt that my right as a supporter....if we lost, he may have made a few errors....maybe not.....
I thought this was a place of discussion, debate and ideas
After a loss.....isnt critisism expected....sometimes warranted
Remember, he did win a lot more than he lost
Do you remember any positive posts i made about ross....or just negative ones....are you being selective???
In case you havent fully read my posts from the thread....ill summarize
Ross....Great Coach....capable of mistakes

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

He has continually made the wrong moves regarding selection, recruiting and development.BigMart wrote:

There was never enough criticism levelled towards the coach after the 2009 GF loss. He actually directed the heat onto the playing group in public the day after we lost to the Cats. There was no reflection or self analysis from Ross in public and he probably thought he couldn't have had a more perfect year. A**hole!!

Can you tell me how we could have got 4 or 5 players. Now this should be interesting.Con Gorozidis wrote:The guy was a total a**hole.
We should have been playing today. But we are 4 or 5 good players short of the cuurent level becuase the flog never developed enough new players in the last 5 years. A hole.

Ross would have erred for experience....if players were fit and in form.
Cats did this and won another flag.
Personally I see parallels between Zac-Max and Hawkins-Mooney.
Both coaches would have been tempted to play the more experienced player, but opted for the rawer and more maligned player.
Today Hawkins stood up in a big way.
Zac's last toe poke almost swung the game...
As for not playing Max...Pies rolled the dice and played the injured Jolly and Reid...and paid the price.
As for not developing players. O think many like Con seriously overate the kids drafted by the club since the year we got Joey.
Last year our recruiting of kids looks good...but follows years of drought.

They recruited better. We have only really lost pick 16 since RL turned up.sunsaint wrote:can you tell me how geelong have managed to develop & introduce class new talent, stay at the top of the competition, & have three GF's to their name.plugger66 wrote:Can you tell me how we could have got 4 or 5 players.
