I'm looking at queueing from around 5.30am due to missed ballot seats.
Anyone else missed out for MCC ballot seats and are looking at queueing early and want to hook up? PM me or discuss here etc.
Anyone queuing for MCC seats at GF ?

I read the wind this year and got one in the ballot.
Now I can just turn up at 2:30 in time for the bounce.
(and discretely leave if it looks like a Collifilth win)

yeah i am flying down from sydney to queue up..
i have only been a full member the last 2 years and being a desperate sainter did the whole stay overnight thing last year. I am a little unsure of what would be a good time to get there to get a seat?
Ideally I would like a single seat about halfway up level 4 - what time do you think normally gets you that? I am aware that coll and geel are 2 clubs with high mcc membership..

Last year I queued up the whole night (was about 10th in line) and got great seats.
However the people who arrived at the very back of the queue about half an hour before the gates opened only had to wait about an hour to get in, and they managed to get seats on Level 4.
IMO if you get there at 5.30 you don't really gain much compared with getting there half an hour before the gates open ...
From last year there was a big load who arrived when the first trains got in about 6am.
If you got there at 4 you would do pretty well. But it's Collingwood, so it's going to be packed.
IMO unless you really want to sit on Level 1, I wouldn't bother getting there much before the gates open. The line snaked around the whole ground last year, but everyone got in and everyone got a seat by the time the line was cleared, and then a few people just walked up and went straight in!

The way it works.
Gates open at 8am.
Everyone charges in.
Then stand at their seats.
(People frantically on their phones holding seats for mates further back in the queue).
Then the ticket guys come round and issue each person with a ticket.
Then everyone leaves.
(I normally go home and come back in at 2pm).
So, given the Saints aren't in it and you are happy just with a reasonable seat, and you are single,
if I was you I would
- strut in about 8:45
(don't worry about that all night queue stuff).
- choose your level
- go straight up to the ticket guy
- tell him you are a single
- ask for his best seat.
(Given it is Coll/Geel you might be limited to L4 by then, but start at L1 because often there are gaps for singles in good positions).
In 2005 I went in at 9:30 (as a single) and got a ticket in the front row of Level 2 - unbelievably good seat!!!!!
