By those sentiments, we probably should get rid of our captain too.

I don't get this place since Ross left all we bang on about is loyalty of coaches and integrity putting the team first an having passion for the club ... Yet we condem Mick for showing those traits to his team ?? It's obvious that Mick gives his all for his team and is emotionally invested in them .. If Ross showed 1/100th of that passion for St Kilda we would prob have two flags and a coach at this point ....

I once cried after playing in a winning premeirship...

But I'm not available to coach anyway.

If we can snag a Premiership both the coach and the captain can cry all night as far as I'm concerned.

They won't be alone

Malthouse just said categorically on Game Day that he will not coach next year, and probably never again.

Coaches don't lie so scratch him off the list.

See, Riewoldt cries when his collarbones snapped and he's some kind of wussy sook. But Malthouse cries and he's just a passionate heart and soul wear-it-on-his-sleeve kinda dude.

Personally I think Malthouse is a friggin' vain showpony whose image is so important to him he turns it on for the big show witrhout even thinking...

Knob.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Well if we take him at his word I say we go with an unproven...not Eade, Ayres, Harvey.
Lyon has pissed me off even more now.

Malthhouse intrigues me on two points this morning...
1. His reference to Leigh Matthews of "your coach and mine, Alan Jeans" the first time I can ever remember him referring to his St.Kilda days,
2. And when asked about being at Collingwood next season, his reply, something like "its not settled yet" with a big grin.

Read into it what you want, but I wonder.....

I read into that he may not be at Collingwood next year.

But he was very, very clear that he will not coach.

Time to forget about him.

Yes he will not coach. Does that mean you trust what he says, or has C ollingwood got him bound by a contract not to coach in 2012?

I don't want him either but his name keeps coming up.

I took comfort from his words that he is no an option.

Saw the show and agree with your take. I felt like he realised his time is up and his family have convinced him that he needs a break. I don't think he'll ever be a senior coach again.
