I don't get this place since Ross left all we bang on about is loyalty of coaches and integrity putting the team first an having passion for the club ... Yet we condem Mick for showing those traits to his team ?? It's obvious that Mick gives his all for his team and is emotionally invested in them .. If Ross showed 1/100th of that passion for St Kilda we would prob have two flags and a coach at this point ....

But I'm not available to coach anyway.

If we can snag a Premiership both the coach and the captain can cry all night as far as I'm concerned.Leo.J wrote:I once cried after playing in a winning premeirship...Bernard Shakey wrote:OneEyedSainter77 wrote:By those sentiments, we probably should get rid of our captain too.SainterK wrote:Fair point  :lol:OneEyedSainter77 wrote:hahaha!!!              :lol:Bernard Shakey wrote:He was so sure they'd lost that he cried when they won.

See, Riewoldt cries when his collarbones snapped and he's some kind of wussy sook. But Malthouse cries and he's just a passionate heart and soul wear-it-on-his-sleeve kinda dude.
Personally I think Malthouse is a friggin' vain showpony whose image is so important to him he turns it on for the big show witrhout even thinking...
Knob.

"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Malthhouse intrigues me on two points this morning...
1. His reference to Leigh Matthews of "your coach and mine, Alan Jeans" the first time I can ever remember him referring to his St.Kilda days,
2. And when asked about being at Collingwood next season, his reply, something like "its not settled yet" with a big grin.
Read into it what you want, but I wonder.....

But he was very, very clear that he will not coach.
Time to forget about him.

Saw the show and agree with your take. I felt like he realised his time is up and his family have convinced him that he needs a break. I don't think he'll ever be a senior coach again.Dr Spaceman wrote:I read into that he may not be at Collingwood next year.borderbarry wrote:And when asked about being at Collingwood next season, his reply, something like "its not settled yet" with a big grin.
