Something we could learn from Hawthorn
Look at the way they tackle
Every single tackle seems to dislodge the ball from their opponent... they retard the arms of the opponent which pretty much ensures the ball spills
now if only their skills matched

Batmans two kicks that IMO turned the game sure reminded me of some St Kilda players.....skeptic wrote:Look at the way they tackle

...and cost them the game in the 4th. Their poor forward disposal turned the game around for the Pies...quick rebounds from poor Hawthorn forward deliveries gave the a sniff in the 3rd, and the first goal of the 4th, from memory. Bateman, in particular, had a shocker.SainterK wrote:Disagreedegruch wrote:They were lousy tonight, everywhere. Should have won by a mile.SainterK wrote:Look at the way they kick
Field kicking was what tore Collingwood apart in the third.

Collingwood were terrible tonight but still won.
Hawks can kick 15/20 metres accurately, good for them but they have now not done anything in a few years so aren't really all that impressive even though the media love them.
Some of their players got found out tonight - namely Bateman, Guerra, Schoenmakers (no real surprise) and even the much vaunted Gibson.
Murphy is lucky to be there at all too.
OK they came 4th/3rd and we came 7th but I don't rate them.
Their defence is only average and with Roughead out their route to goal is only via Franklin.
