He was backing two horses and Freo won. He was looking after his own financial security for him and his family. Good bloke imo.

I thought that it was pretty clear he couldn't involve his management because they also managed Harvey. He couldn't ask his management to stop negotiations when he couldn't give them the reason why.

Thats what makes it even a bigger act of deceit

BUT he was happy for his management to carry on negotion on his behalf
leaving both thinking that they were acting in good faith on his behalf

dog act

just wish he'd shown a bit more of that-- maybe some would not be thinking he was all ice and sponsors etc may have gotten more 'empathy'

note he never showed family whilst at the saints- It's work
but first interview for dockers and out come the photos

Total PR puff piece... family pic and all, and a free kick from The West Australian, I wonder what interests they're trying to look after?

If you think the whole truth is in that article, I think you're dreaming.

And I bet Rod would have lent him some cash!

what a load of crap. How could he not think that St Kilda wanted him. He allowed the negotiations to go on, knowing he was looking elsewhere. That in its own tells you we were interested.

Maybe him and his wife have an open marriage thats why he doesnt believe in loyalty.

Any more than anyone else?

He's renowned for spending a lot of time at the office.

And lost over $1m of the family's wealth....

Hmm... I think I know what you're getting at SB. If so, certainly increases my empathy for the family's situation.

Had to be introduced to his kids at the photo shoot, apparently.

Yeah exactly. kinda like losing the girl you thought would last forever. people just going through the stages of grief. Loss, anger, upset, forgiveness.

I dont know ross personally however he comes across as a decent bloke who had respect of his playing group and gave 110% commitment to the stkfc....and made mistakes but dont we all...?

Agree with your last sentence as well...a good time to spit

It would be interesting to know what Lyon's "Demands" were in relation to the "UP FRONT" component of his contract negotiations with BOTH ST Kilda & Fremantle were. It has been said that Freo offered in excess of $1Mill up front. If true, its even more astounding that the deal was done in 72 hours !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

As long as it's HIS family

Not a great character, and that story doesn't sound right to me either...how does it all fit in with Melbourne's alleged huge offer, or his 3 day turn-around on deciding to leave the club? Was he not being offered money from St Kilda too?

It would be ironic if money he lost in a mining venture was replaced (and then some) by money made from mining.....

Maybe he lost all his money on a bad wager? I'm not surprised he's fleeing Centrebet!

It must have been dreadful for Ross.

The poor man had to sell his investment properties and was forced to just live on his salary.
Was almost forced to get his wife to work.
Talk about doing it tough.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
