Paul Roos will not coach St Kilda next year nor will he coach any where in the afl nect year
LMAO, haven't laughed so much at something written on SS in ages!dragit wrote:nice… best coach of the year (voted via sms) gets the gig for a year, punters could even suggest moves via a twitter feed into the box…Dr Spaceman wrote:Make it into a reality show and flog it to one of the networks.Thinline wrote:A new slant on the shared captaincy thingo...Diff coach each week...plugger66 wrote:Who says we arent getting all four.FQF wrote:So now we have one guarantee on Dean Laidley, another on Roos, another poster has reliable sources that Gary Ayres is being 'seriously considered', and a couple more are dead certain that Malthouse is coming.
That would help with the finances.
First there was "Farmer Wants A WIfe". Now "Team Wants A Coach"
"Kosi - CHB" @wayno

this article states differantozrulestrace wrote:After his respones on "On the Couch" last night he seemed to "have no idea" about anything relating to the former coach.
Which makes me wonder her actually knew a lot.

Roos On the couch last night apparently- written in the age today but not a linked article;
Lyon' Professional' but needs time to mould team:Roos
>>>>>>
the 2005 premiership coach said he spoke to Lyon weekly and considered his positins at St kilda had become untenable, hinting at relationship breakdowns. Lyon's snap decisin to leave had been doen to the letter of his contract.
>>>>>>>>>>>>
You're going to get a style of play that won't waver and a guy who leads your football club and is very much aware of his repsonsibilities.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Though Lyon said last week after he arrived in perth he had never spoken to his players about loyalty, Roos believed it was one of Lyon's strongest traits.
Rossy is a really loyal friend and a very lotal person.
If you give him respect and loyalty , he's an extremely loyal person that's the way I've always found him. I think the attack (on Lyons integrity) is laughable becaue he actually excercised a clause in his contract that was negotiated with his employer.
I know exactly what's happened at St Kilda and there's no way known he could have continued at St Kilda. "

I think they liked his leadership and obviously Westaway is big on stability, but they needed some things to change.
I don't think Lyon wants to change anything. I think he completely and utterly believes in his own game plan and system.
For a guy like Lyon, to be told to change what you fundamentally believe is the key to football, would definitely make the relationship unworkable.

Our trophy cabinet says you are right…Johnny Member wrote:I reckon they wanted Lyon to change his game plan.
And I don't think he wanted to.
From what I've seen over the years, then from what I've read over the past week or so, he absolutely believes in it 110%.
He has complete and utter faith in it.
I don't. And it's my guess that the club didn't either.
If Leo Barry hadn't of taken that grab, Roos would join his cigar-less 'mate' and no doubt he wouldn't be seen as such a great coach, but a good coach who couldn't quite get the job done - game of inches
For all the amazing footy we played in 09, we were pretty lucky to even get into the GF, same goes for the first final last year, a free kick stopped us from meeting the pies in the prelim…
