Great that the media already know that we are interested if that is the case. I hope this hasn't been leaked from our side.IluvHarvey wrote:a lot of people rated him in the "saints new coach" thread. Surely we could keep the number of new threads to a minimum and keep it all together.

I don't think it matters who our coach is for the next 5 years as long as he comes cheap and can relate to young snot-nosed boys who think the world revolves around them.
The next five years should be about bottoming out and tanking for high draft picks.
Then once we've got a team with at least 12 potential stars we can get a decent coach in to pull them together.
Like it or lump it it's the way a socialistic football system works.

Another thread ? Why not. It's not as if we're running out of cyberspace.
And Watters could be "The One"....
Anyways...From the Herald Sun, Oct 13, 2009 -
"COLLINGWOOD has appointed Subiaco coach Scott Watters as its full-time defensive coach.
The former Sydney, West Coast and Fremantle player has made his name off the field as dual premiership coach of Subiaco in the WAFL. He led Subiaco to flags in 2007 and ’08.
Watters was one of the most highly sought-after coaching recruits in the country. The Magpies beat out a bid from North Melbourne, which flew over to Perth yesterday to make a last-ditch bid to sign him."
And also from the HS - Oct 5, 2010 - just after the Pies put the clamps on
the Saints attack in GF2...
"THE architect behind Collingwood's miserly defensive performance is set to be rewarded with an offer of an early contract extension.
Backline coach Scott Watters has emerged as one of the most-sought after assistants in the country on the back of the Magpies' premiership triumph.
Watters, who mentored duo Ben Reid and Nathan Brown, has a year left on his Collingwood contract after crossing from WAFL ranks last season.
But it is understood the Pies want to lock him in as a key piece of its coaching team under Nathan Buckley post-2012."

because the new coach thread is 6 pages long and has a lot of white noise in it without discussing scott watters directly and if he is odds on he needs his own thread surely. I am all for scotty watters.IluvHarvey wrote:You are right there are 1000 repeat threads at the moment.......... so why create another?SaintWodonga wrote:With the above article, I think it's worth it's own thread, geez you could lock 1000 I hate RL threads before this one!

Ironic, I would say Ross Lyon was more the chief architect in our miserable forward line efforts really…philtee wrote:"THE architect behind Collingwood's miserly defensive performance is set to be rewarded with an offer of an early contract extension.

Wouldn't Hudghton be a key mentor to those 2 key backs too?

I guess a lot could hang on whether Watters wanted to be master or apprentice. Master of a team like
the Saints on his own right, or still an apprentice under Lyon or Buckley.
Fact - The clock is always ticking on Senior coaches as soon as they are appointed. Even Sheedy got the tap on the shoulder.
