i have my doubts. with better injury luck they were bound to improve anyway. but now they have to relearn the game and play lyon's game.
this will take some time.
i also wonder if he'll end up butting heads with management after their public statement that they will continue to develop their youth. the money he has been offered will come with certain conditions, and enormous scrutiny. it will be interesting. my guess is he'll make them a more consistent force within two years - but doesn't have the ability to motivate a team to play above itself - just to play consistent, defensive footy. it's not quite enough.
personally i have a feeling it won't end well.
as for the saints - we are rid of him and dodged a bullet - and it didn't cost a cent! we were going backwards under him and we already had a golden opportunity to get a flag - if we were to win one under him, we already would have.

How many players/coaches have walked out on us in the AFL? As opposed to how many we've lured?

Forget the VFL, I honestly don't know why people use VFL stats for stuff like this. The rules were completely and utterly different under the VFL.
