What About the Players !
Lots and lots of SS comments about Lyon, the Club, the CEO, but not much about the Players.
I wonder how they are feeling this morning
Apparantly, their connection with Ross was very strong. Ross has been reported as telling players that he was staying. However, it seems that he has simply "walked away" from them.
I wonder what he said to them out on the Etihad oval?
Will some players now think that Club loyalty no longer matters and that they they "should look after themselves?"

my prayer would be the opposite and he now feels strongly enough to stay.Moccha wrote:This only reinforces to the players that greed is good and loyalty is dead.
I reckon GWS are going up the ante with Goddard. I will be very surprised to see him stay now
My thoughts from the start have been that it's the players who are most decieved.
players in meeting now
he supposedly told them he would see them new year
brief comment from Dal as they arrived for meeting-

Man where does this leave Fev? Mark Harvey was on record as being pretty much the only coach who wouldn't rule out getting Fev... poor Fev...
Anyway, what about our trade plans, our drafting plans, our list management plans we are now going to be behind the 8ball going forward. It makes Pelchin's job so so important.
I feel for the players, they are the ones who have put everything on the line for that mans vision, if they were flat to start this year, how much they be now feeling as the end of it!
Hopefully they refresh themselves similar to Geelong this year however I think we lack the depth that Geelongs list has/had.

They're all adults, they should group together, and vow to bounce back no matter who is pulling the strings...
We have a strong, senior core group... Today people and the media are calling it ageing and past its used by date... The same group at Geelong are called experienced and hardened...
Im sure the players will stick by the club and pull through... They're the ones that wear the jumper...
This goes especially for Goddard... He is a straight up and down guy, and will be hurt by what RL has done... This may work in our favour by making him more committed to our club and his mates...
We, players and supporters, will be fine...
Im happy this has happened the way it has...

Yes, I agree, the players will pull together. Perhaps some will leave. They're all adults.Sobraz wrote:They're all adults, they should group together, and vow to bounce back no matter who is pulling the strings...
