Get real

the club is f*****

The move heading south to Seaford is exactly where the club is now heading

Players hate it and now Lyon has gone they will bail

also will be harder attracting star players because of location

While the current board remain the club is screwed

Wooden spoons a cakewalk

might as well relocate to Tasmania

membership will be less than 30,000 in a couple of years if not next year

P.S

as regards sticking fat.... you didn't renew your membership this year

so what's this talk of sticking fat?

seems to be at odds with your actions

not having a go, just inquiring... surely you can see the irony?

I've been wondering about whether Goddard has agreed to go to GWS after next year as well. It's about the only explanation I can find for his very disappointing year this year, on the back of two AA years and his incredible GF last year. He played like someone who knew they were leaving.

There is a strong rumour circulating again after having gone cold for a while that Carlton are very keen to trade for him in the 2005 pre-season.

If he was to go I'd rather it be now. Always rip the bandaid off, not peel it slowly.

Well do you feel like a great big man for being right while the rest of us were not?

What the hell does that get you, huh?

You're a saint supporter like the rest of us, this affects you just as much....

Oh but you were right about something all along so that makes you feel better?!

i know this is not the way footy is, but if you can ignore loyalty (fidelius) for a minute, the best way to go about building a good list is to clean out while your established older players still have currency. trade them for picks, wish them good luck, and start again. this will also mean you will bottom out and hence more picks.

you need to temper this with the likelihood of membership drop off & sponsorship drop off and hence financial implications.

so you can't have a 100% clean out (especially if you have our membership numbers and fickle sponsors), but if you are going to trade someone for picks then goddard needs to be at the top of the list given his value. you get a similar result in terms of compensation if he goes to gws.

now turn your sense of loyalty to the club back on and rip my post to shreds.

So like the Dee's got rid of Travis Johnstone, Brock McLean, Cameron Bruce? Thats the road we should go down? And what sort of state are Melbourne in? I don't think so...

i don't put any of those guys in goddard's class - we could get the #1 17-year old (plus more?) for goddard and that was never available for the melbourne guys (nor should it have been). i'd hate to see any great players go, but it is an option.
