Lyon has a contract. Which unless stated otherwise, surely means he's staying!
As for the club, again, what more can they say? He has a contract. What more can they do?
Are you really that simple?
The board in their infinite wisdom put in GET OUT CLAUSES!
DO YOU GET IT?
FAIR DINKUM
Man, I'm talking about the media reaction when/if he stays.
Not whether or not the contract atucally means he will stay or not.
I dont get what you think the media reaction will be if he stays. It will be all positive but if goes it may not be and fair enough to.
Come on man, we all know the media take umberidge at being left out of the loop!
Nothing upsets them more than being outsmarted and made to look the fool.
After all this, if he stays, based on the fact that the club hasn't give the media an inch - nor has Lyon, they'll be bitter as!
And they don't just get on with it and move on. They hold grudges and will find ways to smear the club.
Look at Rohan Connolly's article the other day.
You can believe that if you like. The club hasnt given the media anything because they dont know anything. RL hasnt given them anything because he isnt sure what he is doing. The media will not say anything negative if he stays.
IF the guy goes, then good luck and thanks for his efforts, we will survive.
IF the guy stays, then thanks for the continuing efforts, we will survive.
The club will endure regardless of who coaches it!

So he's not 'certain to leave' then?
He's not currently telling the players he might be leaving??!!
Don't tell me that the media is making everything up! God forbid!!

Cool heads get it.
The distinct impression I got from Gary's "interview" was that they intended to make a pitch but no such pitch had yet been made. However in the meantime they had all had a good laugh at the pre-emptive media reports.
There is still more water to go under the bridge. No point speculating beyond that.
"... You want to pose a threat to the opposition in as many ways as you can, both defensively and offensively. We've got a responsibility to explore all those possibilities - and we will."

Well they're heavily speculating that he's leaving - infact they've declared it certain.
If he doesn't leave, and the club and Lyon dare suggest that it was never in doubt, then they'll be outraged!
And as I said, the fact that he has a contract for next year, and according to him nothing has changed in terms of his commitment, then frankly it never was in doubt!

Funny I have heard many in the media say he will stay as well. Most know as little as us but some would know a hell of a lot more than us. The point is if he stays the media arent going to be negative to us.
Lousy scum, leaving for more money when he's contracted to the club!
You really are a dumb ****
THERE IS A GET OUT CLAUSE
So Ross Lyon would be scum according to you if he decides to agree to a five year deal and more coin compared to a three year deal with conditions!
GET A CLUE IDIOT
The venom should be directed at our incompetent board who inherited Ross Lyon and could not manage to keep him!
Yes. Absolutely.
I've supported the club for 35 years. For a bloke to come along, get paid plenty then cost us 2 flags with inept coaching and pathetic list management - then walk out on a contract for cash elsewhere is the height of disgustingness!!!
Of course if he stays, then he's a loyal legend who got us to 2 GFs depsite the s*** list he inherited and I love him.

Not the off season by any chance??
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)
