Still hearing lots of talk about GODDARD & GWS
Still reading lots of talk about GODDARD & GWS...on Bigfooty. I know it has been going around for a while but there may be something in it.
Brendan is a Saints great ! But if GWS were to offer us the 1st Round choice of their 17 y/o - Jaeger OMEARA and a first round national draft selection perhaps someone like Chad Wingard gees the Saints would have to look at it wouldn't they.
They are talking about Omeara being the top pick next year - so if we can get two quality midfielders and a heap of salary cap relief to go after a key forward they would be silly not to take it wouldn't they?

Don't think you can pick up someone from the mini draft as well as someone from this years national. It's one or the other. I'd prefer to put up someone like Gilbert for a pick in the mini draft. It might give us pick 3 or 4 which would effectively be a top 3-4 pick in the 2012 national draft.
If we were to trade Goddard I would want two early first rounders from this years draft. Something like pick 3 and 5. I doubt they will give up their first 2 picks (Patton and Coniglio).

Don't know if letting Goddard go would be putting us back too far, would surely mean total rebuild if he left. Once those 17yr olds mature the current core is gone.
Not to mention if we do get 17yr olds from any player, I would say Goddard would be the best person of the current group to lead them into finals in some years time.
