Time's up for X
Not sure if anyone's posted this already but Brisbane has decided to delist Xavier Clarke. A real tragic story as he had immense talent but injuries just kept cutting him down.

A really popular figure whilst at the Saints and has done some really good stuff helping the community off the field. An excellent bloke and hope he does well in whatever he tackles next.
Good luck X.

Agree..a top bloke who I met a few times over the journey..enormous ability and could've been anything really but for the soft tissue curse

sad for X as he is a quality character
but could see it coming
interesting that Goose is still there... but given the amount of experience they have lost I guess he made the cut.

It sure is a shame. The bloke had talent to burn, but perhaps just not the body to keep backing it up at AFL intensity. Also one of the nicest blokes going around who had time for anyone, and with a smile. Damn shame. Best of luck X!!
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
Injuries wrecked his career.
Could have been anything.
Bad luck, top person.

I agree that he was a wonderful bloke. But don't forget that we picked up Ball at 2 and X at 5 in that years draft. Not trying to put a dampner on the thread, but what a disaster.
Hope personally he has a great future in what ever he decides to do. His personality will take him places. Sadly it wont be playing AFL.

Could we mature age rookie him? He is a wonderful talent and a top bloke. You never know, his luck with injuries may change and we can certainly use his silky skills. Would cost very little.saintbrat wrote:xclarke15 Xavier Clarke

We could do worse than to employ him as a human welfare & development officer.
As a number of you have said he is an absolute quality person and would be good at looking after new draftees at the club and organising their accommodation, helping them settle into the Melbourne lifestyle, etc.
Is he still involved with his charity?

NO it suffered with the GFC and even the houses that were set up appear to have come to a demise- shame- I can't find any record/ account of them from the last couple of years.SaintBot wrote:We could do worse than to employ him as a human welfare & development officer.

May get a gig with the AFL in some welfare role, or the AFLPA helping young draftees.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Definitely agree on both points you make. Quality person.saintspremiers wrote:Yep. Be great to have in at our club.SaintBot wrote:We could do worse than to employ him as a human welfare & development officer.
