RL saves worst for last !
RL saves worst for last !
Has to be his worst coaching effort all year. WTF starting dumpster forward. Need a third marking forward but he has been playing well in the backline.
Should have Gardiner in team - getting slaughtered out of centre. Is Kosi playing up forward wtf had he been.
Has armitage been in centre ?
Too slow with transition getting run down all the time.
Why start Dawson on white he is not going to hurt the scoreboard, should be on Reid.
Disgraceful skills under pressure AGAIN!

Outcoached
His move of our best lock down player fwd was illogical, tried in last years gf to same effect
Leaving riewoldt as the only tall inside 50 for a qtr and a half wholst sydney had three talls.....dumb
Jones dragged to deep defense by opponent to expose his kicking, worked for sydney, and got clint away from the footy...
NDS head to head with Kennedy....dumb
Fisher trying to run a full qtr with goodes, silly
No fwd structure.....
Use of armitage as usual....whilst we are getting cleaned up in the clearances
And again, dominating for a period....no scoreboard pressure due to no fwd line....momentum shift and were in trouble
Seriously, were we trying to score....at any stage
On tonight, its easy to see why we are the least watchable team in the afl and have a number of inadequate players.....jones, polo by foot are hideous......
And Raf will struggle to recover from what can only be described as embarassing.....
Anyway, hopefully our second half we actually set up like a footy side

We went back to playing 6 in attack and footy with some dare - what a difference. Why didnt we start like that? RL chokes in finals becomes more defensive until we are behind under the pump. If he can get us thru this and onto a gf he will be a great coach!

Whenever Goddard goes head to head like ge did with okeefe tonight his opponent slaughters us - why allow it. Damage was done when Goddard moved forward.

The Dempster decision still has me stumped!
Gardiner wasn't the answer in fact probably would have been a worse outcome.
Why the hell didn't we give a hard tag to Kennedy? He killed us at the stoppages!
Why the F*** can Roo kick a goal on the run yet struggle to kick one from 40 out on a slight angle which in my opinion killed the momentum.

Goddard can't play man on man...that's why he always runs off pointing and gesticulating for someone to pick up his man....a freewheeler....WinnersOnly wrote:Whenever Goddard goes head to head like ge did with okeefe tonight his opponent slaughters us - why allow it. Six debutants for the Saints so far in Season 2024.
Give Rossy some credit, his move to take Raph out of the action in the third quarter sparked us into life with the next 4 goals
A true king doesn't glass his girlfriend.
A true king doesn't smear his blood on an opponent when he cannot break a tag.
A true king does not label umpires disgraceful.
A true king is Robert Harvey.

I actually can't disagree with OP on this one.
I walked away feeling RL just wasn't prepared to try something to stem the tide and when the season was on the line in the last quater he just wasn't willing to roll the bloody dice.
I suggested throwing Dawson up forward again like last week. I remember on two occaisions in the last quarter, Milne and Schneider were contesting pack marks deep in the forward line. It was just laughable.

Watch some of Ross's gesticulating in the box. It's not his fault the player's don't do what's expected of them.
It's not Ross's fault we lost tonight, ITS THE PLAYERS.
Its not Ross's fault we didn't win the '09 GF or the draw last year. Missed shots at goal, bad decisions are the players fault, not the coaches.
Tonight the Sydney players were harder at the ball, they were more committed, they hunted in packs, and that is why they won, because they as a group gave a better effort than our group.
Not the coaches fault.

Ross has shown his fallibility tonight. He's a gun, but he's not perfect.SaintWodonga wrote:Strange that RL admitted (in the press conference) that they had not prepared properly for some of the Swans, one player mentioned was Shaw. Given the fact Shaw killed us 3 weeks ago, surely RL should have put more time into him. Shaw killed us again!

Agreed, Ross had a howler in the coaches box tonight. Still, he's human.dcstkfc wrote:Ross has shown his fallibility tonight.
