Have Geelong finally killed off Luke Ball's AFL career?

Post: # 1130293Post To the top »

From some mates who are close to the action at Geelong (and were highly impressed by Cahill down there last week - and conveyed St Kilda's thoughts on both Cahill and Smith as not being far away at all), they now present that, having killed off Ball's career at St Kilda, they have now again showcased Ball's deficiencies and limitations putting very serious questions over his AFL future.

What happened?

Doubt Ball will even get dropped on the basis of one game in which the team was beaten by almost a 100points....

?

Ball just struggled last night as there was no Daisy to dish it off to, and he had to kick the ball himself.

Could be the craziest thread we have ever had and that is saying something. Loopy. Cahill is good after one good game and Ball is finished after one poor one. Yep that would good if you judged footy like that. Loopier.

Definitely gets left behind when teams spread.

Thought he played reasonably well with his deficiencies.

With so many forward runners, his spread is not needed as much. He can instead drop back as an extra man, in case of turnovers.

Now, the problem there is that when he does Mark or get a free, he is still a pretty shocking kick.

Certainly won't be dropped this year, but as Blair continues to develop, I'm not sure where he will stand.

What crap. LB has had his best year since 2006. Most of the filth were no good last night. That's what happens when you get ramed by nearly 100 points.

As for Cahill, I saw him in the SC last week and he is a stick. Not sure he would have the strength to be successful in the AFL.

If Collingwood rely on Luke Ball to win possetion, run carry and spread in the finals they will be eliminated in straight sets. He is a clearance player and thats it.

Yep any reason to slam Ball. They must watch his output weekly, and hope for an ordinary performance so they can start a thread

Shocking thread!

Surely this qualifies for Opposition & General Sports Discussion?

Yes I heard he was ok - still that doesn't matter, some folks need to say he's no good, so they can feel better about themselves
