Next Saturday: all games should be same time!

Post: # 1126959Post saintspremiers »

The AFL are plain stupid sometimes.

Why not play all games at the same time next Saturday?

They could do it and make it fair for all that day.

We have the advantage over Sydney as their game finishes before ours starts.

It makes logical sense.

In the soccer world cup they do just this in the last round of the group matches.

It will never happen, though, because profits are more important than the fairness of the comp for the AFL.

Yes the EPL understands a fair fixture.
Something the AFL does not.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Difficult with ground availability.

Thought it was pretty obvious but clearly not.

Say Collingwood v Geelong is at the G,
Gold Coast v Hawks is at Metricon,
Bulldogs Freo is at Etihad,
Saints v Carlton??
Richmond North??

Will it help maximize crowds and make more money? The AFL's greed gets in the way of integrity.

This thread is stupid.

After enduring sooking north supporters, it's good to see it's not limited to certain clubs.

Brilliant response.

I thought the only nephew of Demetriou on here was P66.

Yep spot on.

I especially loved the EPL comparison above.. Do people understand we have a final series... Where unlike that competition finishing first is everything...

That's an even better response.

What's even more impressing is your original suggestion. Probably the most backward dark ages idea I've read.

Like it or not AD is a superb CEO. All this sooking only outlines you dont understand what it takes.

1. Where do all the games get played?

2. How do all the games get covered by radio/tv?

Unless you intent to host games at local grounds... And broadcast a game on GOLD FM.

Dark. Ages. What's more inspiring is that you thought it clever enough to write a thread on it and remove all doubt.

Spanner there are 5 games at 5 venues.

They can all be played at the same
Time.

We have multiple foxtel and FTA channels.

It's is possible.

Maybe I need to say it slower.

There are 8 games though and 9 next year so how would they do that and are we going to give it to TV stations that didnt even bid for the footy.

It's not possible in Melbourne at least any more.

I'm talking about the Saturday in the final round only.

no they couldn't

big bucks from TV stations and radio stations have paid to be able to broadcast two games. they would need to be paid compo to only broadcast 1

What is the point of that? There would still be 3 or 4 games at different times. Can you explain how that makes it fair?

Crap Michael.

I'm talking about one farming round.

5 games at the same time.

Why should a team get an advantage due to time slots?

Wake up to yourself.

Instead of just pushing your own illogical agenda ...how about answering a few of the questions aimed at your scheme eh?

What games do you play on the Sat arvo? if its the ones involving finalists do you just rearrange them with one weeks notice???

Where do you play them? Name the grounds for each match

Yes there is the Friday and Sunday issue but we prob don't have enough grounds to play all games at the same time and same time.

But we have enough channels with digital and Foxtel's options.

Why does it only matter for Saturday though? Why does it matter at all actually?
