Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

That instrumental burst every time Gold Coast kicked a goal gave me the irrits (see I know some Aussie words!) in our game with them....
It's one of the reasons I don't get cricket. My first experience was at a game where every six I copped a dose of the Black Eyed Peas right in the lughole....
Roar of the crowd, all I want to hear...
Gee I sound like a grumpy old bint!

I would definately have been at the game. Nice to see Jeff Dunne and Simon O'Donnell.
I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

I'll take a guess and say Simon Meehan. Notice Barry Breen give him a rev up after he kicked the goal.philtee wrote:Pardon my ignorance, who is the player kicking the goal ?
Safe to say that who ever it was didn't go on to have a great VFL career.

Obviously the girl playing the violin supports Carlscum and is disgusted her team is only winning by 4 goals, not to mention she has to play the theme song.
Could be worse, imagine if they forced a local school choir to sing the Freo theme song after every goal.
Anyone doing that should have heir working with children accreditation stripped immediately.

Good grief: another Bears fan on the forum! I recall the band! At least there was a connection: John Gray, one of the top Norths players, was a music teacher at the said school (interestingly, he was also a bit of thug who didn't mind dealing out the occasional Liverpool kiss to opponents).doggerel wrote:My allegiance in the northern code used to lie with the North Sydney Bears. They did the same sort of thing at that time - had the local high school band play after each try. Mercifully from that perspective, the Bears didn't score that often.
Supporting the Bears (whose only premierships were achieved before the Harbour Bridge was opened) for the several decades before they were dumped from the NRL desensitized me to the pain and disappointment of the last few finals series.
But there are plans afoot for the Bears to return to the NRL. I think I'm over it all now, but I do wish them well.
BTW there are still plans afoot for the Bears

Yep, remember 'em in front of the social club. Does anyone remember the "Saints Sweethearts"? Our answer to the "Bluebirds"? My mates & I were very excited about their debut. The oldest turned out to be about 9 years old Reckon Hinchy & that crowd protesting about "toddlers in tiaras" would have had a field day! But the kids had fun doing it, and things were less complicated back then.

I was on the Grizzlies as well. Used to sit in the Fig as a kid.meher baba wrote:meher baba wrote:Good grief: another Bears fan on the forum! I recall the band! John Gray was a SUPERB thug.
So too Donny McKinnon and Stevie Mayoh.
I used to love little Paul McCaffery and Mitch Cox in particular.
I willed them premiership-ward when Florimo was a player and Fairleigh, Far Side Larson, and Billy Moore were up and about and Halligan was knocking them over from everywhere, but it wasn't to be.
Unlike St K, the Bears were never really good enough.
Best home ground ever, and one I got to play cricket on a fair bit when I was older.
Geez... I'm getting all misty-eyed....
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'
