Tom Lynch
God I hope I'm wrong but I think I've seen enough of Tom to make the call that he's really going to struggle to make it at AFL level. He's a good kid and you cannot fault his endeavour, but skills are just OK and he's way too slow, does anybody else see it that way?
Tom, if you're reading this, please please prove me wrong, I really want you to make me feel that we didn't waste a first round draft pick

I am of a similar opinion. I was prepared to see him make early mistakes and watch over a few matches.
However, he doesn't have the poise, the agility or the speed that you would expect. His one-on-one attack on the ball is also not up to AFL standard. I don't want to write him off just yet, but he needs to show lots of improvement. His goal today was a lucky get, rather than good play.

At worst I expect he'll be excellent as a long term option down back (where he's played his best footy in the VFL), but I don't think we're doing him any favours whatsoever by bringing him in and out of the team the way we are and then subbing him off pretty much every time he plays seniors. Hardly the ideal way to get a footing in the AFL, or to build your confidence, I would imagine.
I also don't think he's suited to the sort of role he was playing today, which is more the "tall forward" role, rather than "lead up 3rd forward" role, that he is better suited to and was drafted to play.

Or just been hit with it
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

Agreed.dragit wrote:I'll wait a little longer before I make a judgement,
He needs a good run of games in a row too, the poor bloke is omitted after every match,
A wet day interstate probably isn't the perfect conditions for a in-experienced marking forward.
You don't just de-list a kid who has been performing very solidly for Sandy.
Blake and Fisher won't go on forever, and Lynch may well end up slotting into the defence long term.
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.

Lynch GONE !
RL is kidding himself playing LYNCH as our CHF and setting the kid up for failure. He is too slow to be playing forward and it not dynamic in any of his efforts.
The only thing that will save him at years end - will be Blake retiring and or Gilbert being traded to another club. That is the only thing that will save his position on the list.

So if neither of those things happen you think Lynch will be delisted?WinnersOnly wrote:RL is kidding himself playing LYNCH as our CHF and setting the kid up for failure. He is too slow to be playing forward and it not dynamic in any of his efforts.
