Did we purposely loose this game
I am sorry but all the indications are that we lost this game purposely.
Zac & Kosi getting gastro & Baker coming in as a Sub, I think Ross may have done a favour to his old team.
I know people will throw the kitchen sink at me but thats only I can console me with.
May be we are confident of beating North next week & had we beaten Sydney their season is pretty much over.
Once again I am sorry but thats what my opinion is.

No we didn't, but they had a lot more to lose and were a hell of a lot more desperate.
Opportunity lost, all we can do is hope we turn up against the Roos and that today hasn't cost us a finals spot.

No way. Just an insipid performance. You cant gamble on winning games to the top 8 or you may end up facing West Coast in Perth.AnythingsPossibleSaints wrote:I think you're right.mohannair wrote:I am sorry but all the indications are that we lost this game purposely.

Bring out the shrinks for this performance today. Sydney obviously did after last week.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.
You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

I was only joking. I just wanted to give plugger66 something else to get all excited about and refer to for the next couple of years. Just in case he gets tired of twisting other things I've said and repeating them over and over again, as though they have some relevance.kalsaint wrote:No way. Just an insipid performance. Makes next saturday night's game VERY exciting!!! I'm ready to give it everything as far as supporting the boys from the stands goes, WILL the team be ready for the effort? We saw a desperate and eager side beat us for effort today, North will be a similar prospect. I may be way off the mark here, and admittedly only HEARD the game, but from all accounts Roo is playing with a bad injury, and maybe he should be rested? Or played in another posi?
St Kilda forever ( God help me)
this is one of the dumbest theories I've read.
the boys looked shattered, broken, and roo looked really wrecked.
Part of the reason for the shizen start to the season was mental application, ross built it up carefully.
If you think breaking our confidence like this is a plan, then ross is moron, and we know ross isn't a moron.
We were beaten.

Dan Warna, I also agree that it is a dumbest theory but I need something to console myself after seeing how bad we played today.Dan Warna wrote:this is one of the dumbest theories I've read.

Couple of weeks ago we were $15 to win the flag, now we may be in danger of making the finals.

Re: Did we purposely loose this game
What you are suggesting is that RL and co committed to doing something illegal, which would completely risk their integirty and level of profressionalism altogether.mohannair wrote:I am sorry but all the indications are that we lost this game purposely.

Not to mention, risking being found guilty of match fixing, facing a jail sentence and also having the club being crucified by the AFL on account of it.
"I don't think so, Tim"
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!

Hard to believe that they would throw a game and probably not at all true, but this is far from the dumbest theory.
Sydney plays Geeolong at Skilled stadium next week. Probably won't win. Then they play Brisbane, probably will win.
Saints play North, probably will win, then they might lose to Carlton. Unless there is a blow out, Saints should end up with the higher percentage which may result in them playing Sydney at home rather than their "Bogie" Team Essendon. Not so dumb after all!
But if they lose to North, then this WAS the dumbest theory!!![/quote]
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Saints lose to North and Carlton, we won't be playing anyone week one?Ajantis wrote:Coming into the finals, would you want >
St.Kilda vs Sydney at MCG or vs Essendum at MCG ?
I know i would prefer carlton vs essendum and st.kilda vs sydney.
I doubt alot of st.kilda supporters would be too shattered losing to sydney.

Losing today may mean that they miss the finals completely.
North is far from a "gimme" game.

If you finish 9th, you don't get to play finals

It's Ramadan and an hour until eating time.
Toughest part of the day is now to concentrate and make rational calls when you haven't eaten for about 12 hours.
As I said that thats the only thing which can console me that we could have won if we needed.
