Plus Jesse White.... Blake stays if they all play, probably even if 1 of them plays.SainterK wrote:Saints:

Saints :
Baker or Lynch for the Sub. Will depend on match-ups.
Looks like Blake and ??? will be out.
Sydney :
Roberts-Thompson is a big out for them. Seaby or White to replace him.
The Swans site is saying a "test" for Rohan (speedster) and Malceski (experienced defender). Spangher is ex West Coast and comes into the forward line for his first match.

Either Jesse White or Mark Seaby will also come into the side to fill the ruckman/forward role that Roberts-Thomson has been playing.

Looks like Baker In, Steven Out (rested)
My reasoning behind this is that on the saints website they have the interchange listed as so:
Steven Baker
Jason Blake
Jarryn Geary
Sean Dempster
Jack Steven
Tom Lynch
Ryan Gamble
And normally the last 3 listed are the emergencies and the other four are the bench.
But my theory could be wrong!

I dont see why they would rest anyone this week. If win on Sunday we have to finish 6th or 7th so surely if they were going to rest anyone it will be in the next 2 weeks. If we lose this week we can still miss the finals. If Jack is out it will be injury.SaintSimmo wrote:Looks like Baker In, Steven Out (rested)

Agree, plus Jack seems to start on the bench most weeks anyway, so why not name him there?plugger66 wrote:I dont see why they would rest anyone this week. It's just a theory not saying it is going to be true.#1GILL wrote:Agree, plus Jack seems to start on the bench most weeks anyway, so why not name him there?plugger66 wrote:I dont see why they would rest anyone this week. Spangher played v suns a few weeks ago. Kicked 3 or 4, looked like a hero in a 70 pt win which was the Suns worst game of the year. Dunno hes been injured since then or droppedJunction Oval wrote:Saints :

Thanks - correct Stevie, I missed recalling his appearance in the Suns game. Should have checked first. Must be the alzheimers cutting in early.

unfortunately those pro Walsh (me) will never be proven right if he's not played.starsign wrote:LOL!Mr Magic wrote:No Walsh!!!!!!!!!!
Lost the game at the selection table.
Just thought I'd get in before the weekly whingers get stuck into this thread.
good one MrM!! they are a bit like us kicking it to Roo every op....a little predictable!!
Pills 'n' Thrills and Heartaches
I think we all hope walsh will be a gun. Tagdh kenneally was a match winner for the swans. But just because you're an indiginous australian doesn't mean your nicky winmar.
I think blake hasn't done anything wrong and will retain his place. Baker is being told he's under consideration, but we don't need another tagger against the swans, armitage will be given another chance to prove himself as an in and under ball winner (noting the loss of luke ball who gave armo a bath)
Blake has a big tank and will be used to relieve McEvoy in the bigger oval, allowing room for kosi and roo to run.
With North the week after we want to win this game early and effectively and then rest our players on the bench on rotation IMO.
I expect st kilda to come out and deliver a knock out blow early (hopefully kicking straight).
RL seemed to think the saints are motivated now and rolling, and taking every bit of confidence out of the collingwood game we can.

Walsh seems to be committed to learning the game.
And from all reports he has been performing well.
I'm sure if he is a chance to play AFL in the future, the coaches would be keeping him up to date, giving him encouragement.
Wouldn't think the young man would give it up now when he is oh so close. I can't wait to see him run out for the Saints.
