Malthouse wants "FAIRER" FIXture !!

Post: # 1119280Post Eastern »

When commenting on the gap between the have's & have not's in the AFL, Mick Malthouse said that a fairer FIXture should be a priority;

Let's have a look at Collingwoods FIXture for the past xx years (and probably next year) to see what Collingwood can give up to even up the FIXture a bit;

The Collingwood season consists of 16 games at the MCG, 2 games at Etihad Stadium, 1 game at ANZ Stadium in Sydney, 1 game in Perth v Freemantle, 1 game in Adelaide (Friday Night) v Port Adelaide and 1 game in Brisbane or Gold Coast. They NEVER travel more than 4 times per year

They also have locked in ANZAC Day

They have HOME & AWAY games v Essendon and Carlton each and every year

They DO NOT play Adelaide in Adelaide or West Coast in Perth

They also have locked in away games v Melbourne (Queens Birthday) and North Melbourne

So Mick, which parts of the "Standard Collingwood FIXture" are you & Eddie prepared to sacrifice in the interests of FAIRNESS & EQUITY? !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Mick has to be joking! What a muppet. It's more like a "collingwood football league"

To be honest, I think Mick is saying that in spite of Collingwood and not for them. He's said a few things against the grain of what Collingwood usually says since the Buckley succession plan, most especially this year.

Smells like he's trying to make life easier at the new club he'll be coaching.

Agree with this - it's like he is baiting Eddie and giving him the the dirty finger on the way out

Agreed. A joke.

Sh*thouse is obviously doing it to distract journalists from asking how many games straight they can keep winning.

The pressure will mount and mount with each win so that if the 'Pies DON'T win this year it will be Geelong '08...an epic fail.

BTW he'd like Not to play in the wet when he travels...... :wink:

I wonder if anyone will call him on his interchanges and resting during that game if it was so tough- why not more - and forcing his team to demolish a team by over 100 points.

And this morning he's trotted out the excuse of a six day break and how tired the filth were from the game against Port.

What gets me is why everyone hangs off every word he says, when everyone knows he's not good at telling the truth.

Is that the same game that his players were heard to say in the first quarter "this is getting embarrassing". Yep hard game and big trip to adelaide :roll: :roll:

Doesnt mind sending his players half way around the world though for a week.

I grew up around there....Ah the memories.

Nothing original, it's actually called 'The Main Beach.'

The Beach Hotel just back from the beach.

so unless he's teling porkies for twitter he is making a mockery of his coaches suggestion that travelling interstate 90 min hurt his players

and yet they travel over 2 hours for a weekend away....?

shouldn't his players be resting up for their next trip interstate in a fortnight?

He wants a fairer fixture for next year when he's chief boot-studder and bottle washer at the Eddie Centre.

I can understand where he is coming from, the last time the filth had a six day break coming off an interstate trip was in 2007... I mean how on earth are they supposed to condition to that !!!!

Malthouse would be better off closing his lying trap ... biased fixture stacked in the filths favour, I would happy to have the cheating draw. Not attract attention to it.

i read mick's article. agree wholeheartedly whith his idea. solid idea. makes a lot of sense. last time i looked he didn't make the draw. not sure why everyone wants to bag the article. one of the best i have read all year. no doubt the afl will rubbish him and deny there is a problem as usual.
