Milne's first goal this Friday.
Would love to see the little fella kick one in the first five minutes against Collingwood. The feelgood factor would be enormous.
It would make him the greatest goal-kicker at Etihad, on 300, ahead of Lloyd. It would get that milestone bogey out of the way (for the fans anyway).
It would stick it up MM.
At least it would mean we're on the scoreboard!
It would also fire up that rolling chant of "Mil-neeeeee" which sounded so good at Etihad a few weeks back. And it would give us some ammo to suggest
to the AFL that we should re-name the Coventry end as "the Milne end".
I'm sure the Magpie fans won't mind paying tribute to one of the League's greats in such a way.

How can you say that???clarky449 wrote:It was in the first Quarter, Port were always going to come back. I have heard people say we lost it because of that, load of rubbish.matrix wrote:exactly what i was on about

Nobody knows if they were always going to come back. We can only go by what actually happened and there was absolutely NO doubt at all they were being run all over and we had enormous momentum that completely changed after that incedent and play restarted giving them time to regroup.

Anyone who'd run on the ground because a Saints player became the highest goal scorer at a certain venue would need to be looked at in the head. It's a nice little milestone, but not one to interrupt a game for...matrix wrote:prediction:

I just hope we win, don't care if he doesn't get 300 at Etihad until next year as long as he's contributing...
The future's so bright I've got to wear shades...

Well it didn't exactly help and from I remember they hardly touched the ball at that point then they got a goal after it. It's the type of luck you need in tight games.clarky449 wrote:It was in the first Quarter, Port were always going to come back. John Nicholls was asked: "what one thing do you need to win a flag?". His answer was: "LUCK".

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

I simply don't see why anyone is getting excited about a contrived record like this.
500 career goals is a huge milestone coming up for him (20 to go).
But 300 goals at a comparatively new venue?
Beating Matthew Lloyd's "record".
Who really cares?
If Docklands was built in 1990 Lloyd might have kicked 600 there.
Let's celebrate a win.
And not irrelevant contrived meaningless records.

Well I suppose the rest of us will have to congratulate Milney without your support then EMEnrico_Misso wrote:I simply don't see why anyone is getting excited about a contrived record like this.

Napoleon was asked whether he preferred courageous generals or brilliant generals. Neither, he replied; he preferred lucky generals.SaintPav wrote:Well it didn't exactly help and from I remember they hardly touched the ball at that point then they got a goal after it.
