Rhys Stanley & GWS
I am getting a real strong hunch that Rhys Stanley is signed and sealed with GWS and is more than likely "playing dead" for us.
I still suspect he may be a gun.
Anyone got any thoughts/info on
this?

Are all AFL players with hamstring injuries playing dead?Con Gorozidis wrote:I am getting a real strong hunch that Rhys Stanley is signed and sealed with GWS and is more than likely "playing dead" for us.

Exactly. If they had any thoughts of getting BJ they arent going to go after a guy who has basically done nothing. I would love to know why Con has this hunch because there isnt a lot of logic in it. If GWS were into Stanley then they must be into at least 150 players because that is about where he should be on their list.Spinner wrote:Hahahahaha
Well then everyone at GWS should be sacked.
Recruiting a 10 game third year player that struggles at times in the reserves.
This would actually be good for us. Would stop them chasing players like Goddard.
Logic not prevailing in this thread unfortunately.

Based on no information whatsoever. Pure speculation on my part. And pure hunch.Stillwaiting wrote:I hope you hunch is wrong Con. Do you have any reason other than a hunch to think this will happen?
Not sure how BJ is relevant?
Id say Rhys would go from like 100k with the Saints to 200k or something like that with GWS. So a small fish in their salary cap.

BJ is out of contract next year. If they got Stanley this year they couldnt even bid for BJ next year so it is relevant.Con Gorozidis wrote:Based on no information whatsoever. Unless we trade Rhys to them or if Goddard is traded to them next year if Rhys goes as uncontracted....plugger66 wrote:BJ is out of contract next year. Joey said thanks for the offer but he was staying at Linen House Oval.

I'm not saying hes a marquee signing for them.Junction Oval wrote:GWS are going to need more goers than Rhys. Anyone with re-occuring hammy injuries would be of immediate concern. Only a couple of AFL uncompetitive games and not ripping up the VFL. I think that I would be looking elsewhere if I were at GWS.
You are though as he will be one of only 16 picks and the one from our club. Surely there are 100 better options.Con Gorozidis wrote:I'm not saying hes a marquee signing for them.Junction Oval wrote:GWS are going to need more goers than Rhys. Lets take confidence from Chris Pelchen's reputation. He has a reputation for keeping the players he wants and removing those he doesn't.......
..........And not being afraid to step on a few toes along the way if he has to !!
