He may go home because he's homesick.matrix wrote:if tommy goes home then good luck to him
but id be disappointed if the reasoning was he felt he didt get a fair crack at the seniors.
i honestly thought he wouldve came in for the crows or gc game
He may go home because he evaluates his progress and doesn't believe he can make it.
But I doubt he'd go home just because he didn't get a senior game in 2011.

Old Mate above mentioned Gilbert to GWS > O'Meara to Crows > Dangerfield to Saints - anyone think this is a chance to happen? i'd be happy with it.
So you would delist Gram and promote Archer. Can I possibly ask why. Just because Archer is young doesnt mean he deserves a spot. If anything he should be delisted even from the rookie list.defacto wrote:retire

we'll probably lose one of the following to another club (GWS)
- gilbert
- armitage
- dawson
- steven
- ray
in regards to gram we have an over abundance of defenders. were also stocking on midfielders. last year we drafted 3 new first year midfielders in cripps, crocker and ledger. i imagine we will be drafting more midfielders in the up coming draft.
grams effort and professionalism has been woeful. he's 28 next year and is well past his best.
archer needs to be promoted to give us another ruck/forward option. he played well earlier in the year and should be rewarded. if blake and gardiner retire our ruck options on the senior list will be:
- mcevoy
- kozi
- stanley
if you dont want to promote archer then maybe look at curren or recruiting another ready made midfielder. the main thing is gram has to go.

The problem with collecting ruck talent is you can't really go out and get a ruckman if that is all he can do, unless you are going to play them as the number 1 ruckman.
McEvoy can pinch-hit forward, and this is very useful, but he is the number one ruckman of the future with Stanley being the ruckman who plays somewhere else. This pretty much rules out targetting a Bellchambers or McIntosh in my opinion, but makes someone like Mitch Clark very attractive.
It also makes the decision to delist Adam Pattison pretty perplexing. Certainly could have gotten another year out of him.

Firstly you can never have enough mids or running players so Gram will not be delisted. Secondly Archer isnt and will never be a ruckman at AFL level. He isnt one at VFL level. Sorrry but opinions arent usually wrong but this one is.defacto wrote:in regards to gram we have an over abundance of defenders. were also stocking on midfielders. last year we drafted 3 new first year midfielders in cripps, crocker and ledger. i imagine we will be drafting more midfielders in the up coming draft.

He must be considering going back home. He came here to play in the AFL and hasnt got a senior game yet. Best we could hope for is he agrees to stick it out for 1 more year and that he gets a crack at it early in the season. If he can get some senior games under his belt it all might just start to fall into place.St Chris wrote:I honestly think Walsh will go home. Just a hunch. It has been dissapointing that an opportunity at senior level hasn't come, and running into the finals, we wont be experimenting now. 2 years away from home have led to 1 and a half NAB cup games.

I really think he's a flashy, lazy HF. Do not want.
You need to watch harder IMO, only danger of not becoming a champion would be that he is to hard on his body.goddardisgod wrote:Rosco wrote:bloody cats, just what we need - them getting better.Old Mate wrote:The Cats look to be in the box seat, and that's even if he goes. Gardi (retire)
Bakes (retire)
Heyne (in trouble)
McQualter (i have no idea what is contract says but could be in trouble)
dude, you got the cart leading the horse. getting rid of any player only to replace with a worse player is a stupid move, in anyone's book. so gram would only be dumped if a better player could come in to replace him, or at least a player with a fair chance of being better. that's unlikely to be pick 85 in the draft, or a rookie.defacto wrote:if you dont want to promote archer then maybe look at curren or recruiting another ready made midfielder. the main thing is gram has to go.
and anyway, gram is decent. vendetta much?

You have to have 3 draft picks, often clubs will use one of those forced picks to select a player they have delistedDr Spaceman wrote:To be precise, I think each club has to have at least 3 picks in the draft.borderbarry wrote:My understanding is that each club has to turn over at least 3 players per season, which means they have to pick up 3 new players. If we are going to promote a rookie we need 4 vacancies on the list.
I love this club
