Armitage makes a statement!
Talk around all week that he may be dropped down to Sandy to find some form.
As we all know was great early in the year, before being taken over by Jack and finding himself a lot more forward than in the middle. Been sub for the past 2 weeks.
But got his chance to prove himself tonight and he was fantastic!
His tackling pressure was great. When he tackles, they stay tackled! Often dislodging the ball.
Worked really hard to find the ball tonight, and even got a few goes in the middle, which I think was reward from Ross.
I know, St. Kilda owned the ball tonight, but it's great for Armo to find the ball 20 times, something I think he struggles with at times, just doesn't find it enough.
He was great tonight, I am really rapt for him! His intensity and pressure was great and then working forward he was good too.
20 touches, 5 marks, 9 tackles!
Well done Armo!

Yep, you could never doubt this guys will for the ball in contested situations. He again showed that tonight.
The thing that impressed me most was that he worked hard to try and find the ball. It's been my main criticism of him since he arrived at the club, just didn't work hard enough going forward.
Twenty touches for him is a great step in the right direction. We owned the ball tonight, and there were plenty of touches up for the offering, but hopefully he can start to realize how hard he needs to work to help us not only defensively, which he is great at, but also offensively.

I think he is....
For the amount of limited opportunity he's got, he has done not too much wrong.....
Been outstanding in the two's.....made impact, whether midfield or forward in the seniors, and remember he has played under 50 games...
If he was a tiger, he would have played over 100 and been a high B&F finisher on more than a couple of occasions

Re: Armitage makes a statement!
Love the way he throws his arm in when he tackles. Almost like getting a bump in before he grabs them and like you said often knocks the ball out. Good stuff.Sam23 wrote:His tackling pressure was great. When he tackles, they stay tackled! Often dislodging the ball.
