there has been s few, just the odd comment, can't remember who it was. I have opposition supporters at work who always bag him, yet they seem to ignore his goalkicking record which would have to be one of the best all time for a small fowardThe Fireman wrote:Can't recall many Saint supporters ever bagging Milne...he has been constant over his career.Stillwaiting wrote:So where are all those who are always bagging him, surely they will go back into hiding.
MILNEEEE
I love this club
As a long term milne fan, I note he has never made the AA side despite kicking close to 500 goals in 240 odd games at a 2 plus goal average.
There have been many times he's come close but the FP goes to the second best FF or a resting midfielder.
Its a shame because for almost every season he's been one of the best FPs in the competition.
They just don't like a white boy who can do magic IMO.

He's such a strange footballer
Not tall
Not particularly fast
Not particularly strong
Struggles to kick over 45m
Yet despite all of that... the guy is an absolute GUN
Always runs to the right positions
Uses his body incredibly well
Consumate team man
He's w/o a shadow of a doubt the player the youngins on our list should be looking up to.

You know what won't be mentioned by anyone in the media: He had 7 tackles.
Let him follow that up consistently. We love ya Milney!

agreed. he's currently on 473 goals which is 57th of all time (@ 2.07 per game). in recent weeks he's overtaken dermott brereton, terry daniher and scott lucas.Legendary wrote:Will retire as the best small forward of the last 25 years.
if he kicks 21 more he'll overtake paul hudson (479 @ 1.96) and jeff farmer (483 @ 1.94), probably his two biggest recent rivals as small forwards.
the only others between him and the top who i'd broadly consider small are michael o'loughlin (521 @ 1.72), peter daicos (549 @ 2.20), brad johnson (558 @ 1.53), kevin bartlett (778 @ 1.93), leigh matthews (915 @ 2.76).
he sits comfortably behind daicos and matthews, competitive with bartlett (maybe?), and i'd have him ahead of johnson, o'loughlin, farmer or hudson.
he shouldn't go this year, should probably go at the end of next - but that said, he may not lose any more pace at 33 than he does at 32 or 31...
