I'm also in the no camp but can see your points.
One thing overlooked is whether he'd be the personality type we'd want.
From what I understand he is quite a divisive figure among Port Adelaide players and one of those people commentators are always alluding to when they talk about culture problems at the Power.
He wouldn't necessarily get along with his new teammates and while that shouldn't be the major factor it should carry some weight.

25 minutes to make a name for yourself like you've never made before.

Chad, Farren, Jarryn, Raphael, Clinton....
Jarryn and Farren discuss 'that' night out in Frankston, while Clint sees a Mornington witch doctor who claims to be capable of curing his kicking problems. Meanwhile, Chad and Raph are caught in a compromising position when both are named as the substitute on match-day.
Australia...... Live it like we stole it....... Because we did.

We need to recruit a Ridge and a Blain for next season.GrumpyOne wrote:Like.evertonfc wrote:Tonight, on South-East Enders.SainterK wrote:The only part that interests me about it, is I think we'd official have the best collection of soapy names in the AFL.

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Re: I will probably get flamed for this
Chadwick is a gun however can he really play Gwilt's role? I thought he is either a forward or bust these days? Yes he played the roving backman role really effectively however it was a few years ago. He has been a favourite of Mr. Attack over the years.joffaboy wrote:Is it worth looking at Chad Cornes for one season to fill Jimmy Gwilts role while he is having the knee reco?
I know - Cornes is 32 and not part of our long term plans - a huge disadvantage.
It means not developing a listed player like Walsh for example.
My way of thinking would be that if he was taken for one year, RL thinks we have a realistic chance of a flag in 2012.
So it depends on your way of thinking. If you think we have a chance with the core group still in their prime, and with players like Steven, Mac, and Armo coming on (and Lenny back), you may think it is reasonable to use an experienced backman like Cornes for the one season.
maybe a year deal with our last pick? Nothing to lose there.
If you think we are shot and need to rebuild during 2012 it would be a silly decision.
Also with RL record with recycling players, many would wonder about the direction of the club.
There is no right or wrong, I am just putting up a hypothetical.
Would Cornes be a fit for a flag tilt with Jimmy out, or would we be better developing a kid?
Of course the alternative is develop a listed player AND try for the flag.
So lets keep the convo civil. As i said no right or wrong answer.
