Tom Simpkin? Tommy Walsh?

When is Jason Blake due back?

I would like to see Tommy Walsh given a go next week at least. Adelaide at Etihad should be a win, but with their eyes firmly on getting into the finalls now, I have a sneaking suspicion that Blake will get the gig.

Simpkin or Blake imo. Simpkin has youth on his side and has more rebounding ability than Blake but Blake is proven and can give a chop out in the ruck. Walsh is now playing forward and i believe that is where he will eventually break in. I'd probably go Simpkin because Kozi can now help out in the ruck so Blake is not needed for that.

I think Tom Lynch has been playing that role at Sandy?

I think Lynch will but if he doesn't take off maybe Blake or Geary.

Ross has tommy pigeon holed.....it will be blake

Simpkin next...

Walsh will only be considered if Zac is injured....

I would make these changes
Out
Gamble, gwilt, polo
In
Walsh, lynch, geary

Luckily you arent coaching. 3 changes after a geat win and 2 of those did their job. Polo was quite good and Gamble was good in the first half.

Would be thinking Simpkin in for Gwilt as the only change. Geary in, for anyone else not pulling up.

Has to be Blake or Lynch if we are considering a run towards the finals, I suspect it'll be Lynch.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

We have two very winnable games ahead of us - Adelaide at Etihad and Gold Coast. Rather than running with a known aging quantity in Blake, I would prefer to see either Walsh, Lynch, or Simkin given a run over the next two weeks.

I dont think anyone will replace James's drive and rebound from defence but Tom LYNCH is the best suited replacement IMO...

Doubt they'll make 3 changes.....Doubt Ross will fornicate his forward line by dumping Gamble and if Polo did his job then i doubt he'd go either.....

Will we pick up a player in the SSP window :?:

Tom Lynch Tom Lynch Tom Lynch.

The guy is AFL standard. Get him in the team.

I liked what I saw of Simpkin. He seems like the natural replacement for Gwilt. I don't watch Sandy games but from what people on here say, Lynch could also play that role. Blake can be used in the ruck but I don't think we need three big plodders in Mac, Kosi and Blake in the team. Ross seems to be more wary of our lack of speed this year. I'd leave out Blake and play Simpkin or Lynch down back.

Jason Blake would be the obvious choice, but is injured and is unlikely to play again. Medial strains aren't as bad as PCLs but usually end older players' careers. Tom Lynch has shown nothing up forward, so maybe he could be OK down back. As to anyone else, getting first or second gamers into the backline at this stage is not ideal. We are pretty much at the end of the player group at the moment and James Gwilt's injury is just another cruel blow. Is there another club with two ACL's?

Polo and Gamble both did enough to stay in the team, Gwilt should be the only one to go out and hopfully either Walsh or Simpkin could get a crack at it. No point dumping players for the sake of it.

We need to settle the forward line, so probably no change there, though we need a strong body with a bit of dash to replace young Jimmy, and although I like Blake, I think Tommy W is worth a crack- the rest of the team did well and all carried out their tasks I reckon.
